Served in a goblet glass from a vintage 2011 bottle.

Appearance: Thin brownish Amber body with a tan head rising half a finger's length.

Smell: Light sweet raisins and hint of yeast.

Taste: Sweet and complex grapes with smooth malts. Feels a bit like wine and bread.

Mouth: Full bodied with hints wood and has a dry feel which honestly makes the brew pretty addicting.

Overall: Descent brew which exceeded my expectations. Juicy and touch sour but well worth it. Salud.

What a great surprise. I was expecting this to be heavily oxidized given the age. Instead this is one of the better quads I have had in quite some time. Pours with a dirty muddled color. Aroma is slightly muted but the dark fruits take lead here. Taste is slight oxidation, rich malty backbone, luscious dark fruits such as dates and figs, slight oak and a bready back end. No alcohol in aroma or taste - it is nonexistent. Mouthfeel is what leads here. It is thick and chewy; full bodied.

Lekker hoor, helemaal geen schuim, rode wijn proef ik ook, al ben ik daar niet zo'n fan van, cheers!

2010 vintage, on tap at the brewery. Aged in St. Emilion casks. Phenomenal beer with a strong wine influence in smell and aftertaste.

2010 Vintage. Still has great carbonation well after the pour, fizzy and cola-like. Nose has lots of toffee malt, nice oak woodiness and a little of the classic dark fruit Belgian phenol. Taste is the same combo but with those phenols jostling for more attention. Definitely a classic quad with all the right flavors - fig, cola, chocolate covered cherry, phenol - though I struggled to discern the oak and what that brought to the table. It has been a bit since I have had the regular Pannepot but I don't think there was much added by the additional aging beyond smoothing out some of the flavors, which is certainly beneficial as I found regular Pannepot to have a tad too much tannin flavor.

Wow. This beer is almost underrated on this site. Complex and simple. The 2011 version bottled in 2016 is balanced. The Fruity esters and the toffee brings a good fruitcake taste. You can almost taste rum even if the Calvados is present and the oak is there but so lightly, it brings only what's needed.
This beer aged well especially in French foeders apparently. The aging rounds up Pannepot but I almost prefer the original version, a bit more complex

2011 bottle. Brown-deep mogany color with offwite head thst dissipates into a ring. Smell is oaky, alcohol, pungent spices. Taste is some dark fruits, prune and more things going on that i can't really explain. Mid carbo, mid body. Very good, as usual for the Pannepot series.

2011 Vintage - Pours a very dark brown - quite clear - good head which died and left a film.

Nose is malty sweet with some dark fruit, cherry, fig and port wine.

Palate is less sweet with some coffee and a little chocolate in the finish - medium mouth.

Very good overall - complex, good balance - not too cloying.

Highly recommended.

2011 Vintage Pours clear, dark reddish brown in color with minimal head. Taste is fig, prune, raisin with light oak and dark cherry. Sweet, medium bodied for the style, with moderate carbonation. An excellent quad. I think I prefer their regular Pannepot better, but wow what an excellent quad. Well worth seeking out.
