A: Pours a clear but opaque very dark brown with purplish blue notes in color with light amounts of gentle carbonation along the edges of the glass and some deep amber highlights. The beer has a quarter finger tall fizzy beige head that reduces to a small patch of very thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of blueberries and pie crust with lighter notes of chocolate. The aromas of the chocolate really begin to intensify as the beer warms up.

T: Upfront there is a light flavor of grainy malts which is quickly followed by moderate to strong flavors of blueberries (but not overly sweet nor overly tart/bitter blueberries). There are light to moderate flavors of bittersweet chocolate. Hints of bitterness are present in the finish but fade quickly.

M: Medium bodied with light to moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.

O: This is definitely one of the better beers I have tried from this brewery and does not have the thin mouthfeel of some of their other offerings. Hides the 8% ABV quite well and has a nice authentic blueberry flavor/aroma. The hints of chocolate were a pleasant surprise.

On tap in Atlanta.
Generous blueberry, dark malt and vanilla. Lightly sweet. Very smooth, medium-full body.

Overall: somewhat like is namesake, but less fruity and less sweet.

Pours bluish-brown with a thin head that instantaneously recedes and doesn't leave lacing. Aroma is a fake, chemically blueberry. Aroma is very strong and has a decent range. Taste is slightly tart blueberries with a grainy wheat undertone. The blueberry is a little syrupy and sticks to the tongue. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation that left a fake fruit aftertaste. The aftertaste sticks around for a little bit. Could be a dessert beer for someone who likes concentrated blueberry.
The odd color and aroma didn't prepare me for the syrupy texture that stuck to the tongue. It's a dessert beer done heavy handedly. I'm guessing the blueberry flavor comes from a blueberry slurry. The feel of it is too sticky for me to want a second one.

On tap at World of Beer Raleigh

A - dark brown with a thin, off white head that has little retention

S - pie crust and blueberries

T - blueberry, grains, faint chocolate, mildly bitter

M - medium bodied, smooth, crisp

This is a nice little fruit beer. The blueberries were great. They weren't bitter or tart and the beer had great balance. The chocolate notes were different and welcomed. It lost points for the grainy notes. I give this beer points for uniqueness. It was perfect but it was nice to try.

Very nice refreshing beer, nice amber color with just a little head and minimal lacing. Smells of blueberries, tastes the same along with malt and caramel. Not too sweet, well-balanced with just a hint of bitterness. Reminds me more of a blueberry muffin than blueberry pie or the fruit itself. Mild mouthfeel and good amount of carbonation. Refreshing, light, tasty and easy to drink.

I'm trying this at my bro in law house. It poured a clear deep mahogany with thin ercu head that is not leaving any lace. The scent is blueberry syrup. The taste is sweet blueberry with tart finish. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall....not a big fan of this.

This is a fun "freaky" ale to enjoy on occasion. There's nothing special about the look. Very little head, some lacing. Dark brown in color. The nose is pleasant, though the blueberry smells a bit artificial. Can't be helped, I suppose. It *is* supposed to taste like the pie, I guess.

Flavor is similar to the nose. Pleasant - actually kind of nice at first. As I drink, I become less enamored of the taste. I would prefer a bit more carbonation. The feel is a bit watery. I was surprised by the high ABV. In a good way. Most "fruit/vegetable" beers tend to have low ABV.

The flavor actually is a bit cloying - not awful, though. It forces me to sip slowly. Not something I can quaff down - not so much because of the ABV but because of the flavor.

I am enjoying the novelty of this one. It isn't bad. It's just not for me.

Poured from the tap into a tulip glass at Taco Mac in Atlanta. The appearance is a brown color with blue highlights with a small white head. The aroma is full of artificial blueberry. The taste is mild tart blueberries with some wheat in the background.
