Very nice refreshing beer, nice amber color with just a little head and minimal lacing. Smells of blueberries, tastes the same along with malt and caramel. Not too sweet, well-balanced with just a hint of bitterness. Reminds me more of a blueberry muffin than blueberry pie or the fruit itself. Mild mouthfeel and good amount of carbonation. Refreshing, light, tasty and easy to drink.

The look is a darker hue but you could still see light on the other side of the glass. The smell was refreshingly blueberry, and the taste was pleasant blueberry with a sour almost very slightly bitter finish at 8% alc. by vol. The feel of this beer is rather enjoyable, I would drink it again.

I'm trying this at my bro in law house. It poured a clear deep mahogany with thin ercu head that is not leaving any lace. The scent is blueberry syrup. The taste is sweet blueberry with tart finish. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall....not a big fan of this.

Happy New Atwater Brewery Beer Sunday (Week 664)! Each week, I try to gather several beers out of my backlog from one particular brewery for a brewery horizontal. This week is the exceptionally hit-or-miss Atwater Brewery from Detroit, MI, continuing with this beer.
From the bottle: "Ale brewed with Blueberries"; "Pairs with: Blue Skies and red Checkered Blankets."; "Born in Detroit. Raised everywhere."
Here is another instance of beer deja vu. I would have sworn that I have reviewed this beer before & yet none such exists. No matter. A Pop! of the cap, a slow, gentle pour & I was off & running. I followed up with an in-glass swirl that raised two-plus fingers of foamy, rocky, light-tan head that quickly fell back to wisps. Color was Brown to Very Dark Brown (SRM = > 27, < 34) with NE-quality clarity & ruby highlights. Nose was unquestionably blueberry! When I was a kid, blueberries & blueberry pie was/were my favorite(s), but not as much any more. Still, this was the scent that I remember when I think of blueberries. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was blueberry plus a biscuity, not entirely sweet, maltiness. This was less blueberry pie than blueberry muffin or blueberry scone. Finish was semi-dry as befits a fruit that is not overly sweet and they showed restraint in its malt base by not letting it get too sweet. This was a very pleasant drink.

This is a fun "freaky" ale to enjoy on occasion. There's nothing special about the look. Very little head, some lacing. Dark brown in color. The nose is pleasant, though the blueberry smells a bit artificial. Can't be helped, I suppose. It *is* supposed to taste like the pie, I guess.
Flavor is similar to the nose. Pleasant - actually kind of nice at first. As I drink, I become less enamored of the taste. I would prefer a bit more carbonation. The feel is a bit watery. I was surprised by the high ABV. In a good way. Most "fruit/vegetable" beers tend to have low ABV.
The flavor actually is a bit cloying - not awful, though. It forces me to sip slowly. Not something I can quaff down - not so much because of the ABV but because of the flavor.
I am enjoying the novelty of this one. It isn't bad. It's just not for me.
