The Grove is an excellent establishment situated just on the outskirts of Huddersfield' bustling town center, not too far away but just far enough to avoid plagues of drunken party goers and the common rabble of drunks/football hooligans the town center occasionally houses.

As for the drinks there is not a single pub in Huddersfield which all year round offer such a varied and often changing selection, including swathes of aged and flavored whiskeys/rums, 17 draught beers & ciders plus a plethora of bottled beers which exhibit bottles from breweries such as Flying Dog, Brew Dog & Thombridge to name a few.

Upon entering the establishment you are greeted with the choice to enter the 'Tap Room' or 'The Lounge', the 'Tap Room' holds an array of draught beers with multiple blackboards describing what's on (beer abr %, colour, smell, brewery, taste). Plus on Thursday's you'll enter upon the weekly Celtic bands playing joyous & melodic tunes amidst the celebratory ambiance the pub usually draws.

Within 'The Lounge' the sights of abstract/unusual paintings are distributed amongst the exceptional amount of taxidermist animals scattered upon the walls. Aside from this the bar holds 8 cask lines and all 12 of their kegs with a large shelving unit behind it holding some of their many fine whiskeys, rums, gins and other spirits/liqueurs available.

Moreover, a spacious beer garden with a separated smoking area is provided to the back of the pub which is perfect for hot summer evenings. Additionally, the establishment holds two seating areas of which they use to showcase their extensional library (or an extended menu) for draughts beer & ciders, bottled beer, spirits/liqueurs and food such as - cheeseboards, crisps, nuts, chocolate, jerky and for the quirky of us lollipop scorpions, flavored larvae/wasps, extra hot chilli meats and terribly spicy pork scratchings. What more could you want?

For pubs in Huddersfield I'll give it a 10/10, elsewhere I'd still rate it 9/10. It's not too expensive, has friendly service, lots to offer, is open day & night and every now and then it'll surprise you usually ending up with you liking it more.
