V-Golden City's best asset is the patio/beer garden. It is tucked off the main drag in Golden in a quieter neighborhood with plenty of shade and large tables. It is a nice, comfortable place to hang out. The indoor area is tiny and the bar is basically a walk-up affair with another window outside for service on the patio. GCB was full, but not crowded when I visited on a Saturday afternoon. The crowd ranged from families to hipsters to bikers.
Q-I tried full pours of their dry Irish stout and the regular IPA, both were just OK. I also had tastes of the IIPA, which was not very good, and the "summer sour," which was OK, but not great. No guest taps.
Ser-The bar tender was friendly and prompt, but the pours were a little off. The server intentionally wiped the head from my stout(?) and my friend's sour was poured in a shaker pint glass. I'm not a huge glass snob, but all beers were poured in a shaker glass, and a sour in a shaker is not cool.
Sel-GCB had about nine beers on offer, as well as some ciders. It was a pretty standard selection with a few IPAs, a mixed fermentation sour, a red, a wheat, and a brown or porter if memory serves me right. Nothing super experimental happening here.
O-While I liked the laid back patio vibe, the beers could use an upgrade. Go here if you want to relax outside on a great patio; go to Cannonball Creek if you want good beer.

I loved visiting this place! I loved that it is in a residential area. Seeing houses all around you as your sipping a delicious brew on their patio is pretty sweet!

Amazing new remodel. I really like the bathrooms and the repurposed bowing alley tables, I think from the old golden bowl. GCB has been here ever since I moved to the state 7 years ago. It is always amazing with excellent beers and a completely unique and unpretentious vibe, which is growing scarse with all the new clone a brewery types popping up all over the state. Check them out, you won't be disappointed.

This place is the best. Go kill yourself on one of the many single tracks and then stop here for a sampler.

Great local establishment. We have been coming here for years.
GCB has been around way before craft beers were "Cool"
One occasion many years ago-we were offered a free pitcher for stacking some empty kegs!

Really cool outdoor beer garden. Beers were lacking in character and were not poured properly with a lower level of carbonation which is not to my liking. Staff acted like they did not want to be there, very off putting to say the least.

Showed up just before last call. Jason and I were able to sneak in a couple of pints each. Beers were lackluster and flat. Service was the same. Guy behind the bar hated life or something.
The beer garden only and ordering from a door concept was interesting, but not interesting enough to pull me back.
Seems like they're living in the past, back when they actually were the "2nd largest brewing in Golden."

I stopped by here on a recommendation from a friend, and was glad I did. They are primarily a beer garden, but with a cozy little indoor area. They gave me a brewery tour and some preview tastes off the tanks. They had a cool brick and copper old style kettle.
The selection of beers was about 10 but they covered every taste I wanted. The kolsch was the single best I ever had! The red is perfect. Stout is great. The brown was also very enjoyable.
There was a food truck selling fantastic organic burritos. I will definitely make my way out there as much as I can.
