A: Blond color, the foamy head is fat, white and shiny, looks like whipped cream, have long life and good lacing;

S: Perfumed with hops and essences of lime and citrus;

T: Begins with smoked malt, appears after citric and spicy hops with sugars, very well balanced;

M: Refreshing with a sweet bitterness, produces tingling in the throat, and high carbonation, all these qualities in a light body;

D: The best light-body and refreshing beer I have classified.

Received a bottle from Shreik806 as a bonus. Best by 10/02/11

A- Pours a greenish gold, hazy, with a thick 3 finger head. Head is quite bubbly and persistent. Probably lasted a good 2 minutes. Head fades to a good lace on the glass, minor webbing floating at the top.

S- First of is a nice sweet malted barley smell. Not too heavily roasted, so lots light sweet flavors off the malt. Underneath the malt is yeast, a little graininess, and some mild hops.

T- Sugar hits first, but quickly knocked out by yeast. Obvious finish of wet grass. Undertones of banana, cinnamon, and pepper. A decent spicy bite at the end. Leaves a pleasant apricot aftertaste that lasts for several minutes.

M- Light to medium bodied kind of like a Munich Lager. Straight out of the bottle it was pretty heavily carbonated, but it didn't hold the carbonation long.

D-Highly drinkable. Easy to drink with a lot of nice flavor. The wet grass in the taste is a little too heavy, but that's my only complaint.

O- A pretty decent brew. Unique in it's approach and enjoyable. Happy to have tried it.

330ml bottle:

decants a hazy golden ale with a, smallish creamy cap.

Aromas are slight: a whaft of malts with a citrusy-floral nose.

Sturdy profile: Big malt with vanilla pod and succulent fruity flavours, sweetness balanced with leafy dry hopping. Velvet smoothness in a honey-like finish.

Very understated but substantial and well crafted. I will be cellaring a few.

Immense thanks to northyorksammy for the chance to try this before they all disappear. Best before 09/01/11. Poured from a 330mL bottle into my Troubadour tulip.

Cloudy satin sheen gold body with a very large rocky pale lemon chiffon head which slowly recedes to a creamy soft-peak crown. Large arcs of lacing race around the sides.

Pale malt base notes in the nose along with a sweet yeasty undercurrent. Fresh cut hay, very light esters, and delicate biscuit aromas as well.

Sweet yeast flavors with white pepper, coriander, and sourdough starter on the palate. Banana bread and a light lactic tartness along with a very mild citrus-esque bitterness in the finish. Delicate and well balanced.

Medium-light bodied, pillowy and soft, with excellent effervesence.

Supremely drinkable - and a great value if you live where you can get some.

Poured into a chalice glass. Easily one of the best-looking bottle pours I've had in a while. The colour is a opaque light golden, and it leaves a thick, foamy head that simply won't go away. Terrific lacing right up the glass. Reminded very much of Duvel.

Smell is slighty yeasty with a bit of fruit and a faint note of alcohol esters.

The taste is a lovely blend of yeast, citrus (lemon), pear, nectarine and coriander with a slight bubble gum kick. Loads going on here. The finish is dry and satisfying.

Mouthfeel is very carbonated, yet creamy thanks to the (still thick!) head. Refreshing. Dry, but doesn't stick to the palate.

One of the best BPA's I've had in recent year. After seeing that it's not being brewed again, I'm snapping some more up tomorrow - I definitely recommend you do the same!

Pours a orangey straw when held up to the light. 2 and a half fingers of mountainous, foamy head quickly fills the snifter leaving some nice film like lacing around the glass. As previously mentioned, this reminds me a lot of Duvel, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Smell of belgian yeast, tangerine, spice and some more citrus. Delicious.

The belgian yeast pairs nicely with a subtle sweet tangerine tang and caps off with some clove, spice and a mellow but snappy citrus finish. The tad bit higher ABV is well disguised, staying true to the style.

Sharp and slightly creamy in the mouth. Highly drinkable.

Overall, a tasty, well made belgian pale ale. Too bad this stuff was only brewed once.

Deep gold color with plenty of haze. A giant foam cap immediately surges up with the pour and never dissapears. Huge swathes of lace drape the glass. This beer looks fantastic. The aroma is very soft with some spice and doughy malt present. The taste is more interesting with biscuity malts, fruity notes and herbal hop flavor in the back. Various spices (all-spice, nutmeg, even ginger) and nuance as the beer warms. The mouthfeel is very delicately carbonated and smooth like velvet.

A very pleasant Belgian Pale Ale. It has a good amount of complexity and a robust malt profile.

Poured this into a Duvel glass and was taken aback. Here is a beer worthy of such a glass. A beautiful pillow white head on top of a semi cloudy golden ale. Wonderful.

The smell is lightly spiced with clove and dried fruit like apricots.

The taste was surprisingly hard for me to pin down. It's good, but reminded me so much of Duvel that I was hard pressed to come away with anything else.

Mouthfeel is dry and very carbonated.. but the carbonation contains real scrubbing power and was able to cleanse my palate while I ate.

Drinkability is good.

Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy blond color ale with a super huge foamy head with good retention and perfect retention. Aroma of coriander, sweet fruit ester with a touch of peach and some Belgian malt. Taste is very refreshing with great notes of Belgian malt with lightly sweet notes and great spices mix with light notes of coriander and orange peel with fruity ester. Body is quite full with perfect carbonation. This one really hits the spot and I quiet enjoy those easy to drink Belgian pale ale in the summertime.

Pours the most absolutely ridiculous head I've ever seen, takes up 2/3 of the beer, with a cloudy pale straw yellow colour.

I'll have to wait a while for this monstrosity of a head to clear up so the sweet aroma can make it to my nasal glands. Okay...somewhat cleared up, the nose is picking up some ripe fruit, bananas, coriander, cloves, wet grass and somewhat winey with some sourdough on the side.

Once I get through this obscene head, my taste buds are intoxicated with a lovely melody of ripe apples, bananas, lemongrass, some yeast infected white wine, some fresh baked parmesan oregano subway bread, and a nice spicey hop finish. Wow look at this head, it doesn't seem to want to go anywhere.

Nice creamy mouthfeel thanks to that preposterous head, highly carbonated. There is something very special about this beer, a very good BPA, better than Duvel on many levels, yea I said it!

Pours with a monstrous, lively, rocky head. Phenomenal head retention and it laces like a beast. Wow.

The aroma is wonderfully inviting, with hints of flowers, barnyard yeastiness, oranges and dried pineapple.

The taste follows, with the bitterness and hops being crisp and bracing, somewhat floral, but the sweet bready, biscuity malt keeps them from being nothing less than moreish and working in perfect harmony with the accompanying coriander and rosewater flavors. It's a Belgian beer all right, with the yeast imparting a spicy, saddle leather funk to it, and it works really well here.

The mouthfeel is lightly crisp, dry, and silky.

This is a wonderfully enjoyable beer to drink. In fact, I drank it far too quickly to be particularly contemplative in my review, and stopping at just one seems a shame. I simply must get more.

I had this at Chaucer's Pub, in London, ON- Labeled "Margriet"- A clouded pale yellow pour, with a frothy and long lived white cap. Good lace. Nose is of pears, other tropical fruit, candy, hops, spicy floral notes. This is also quite perfumey in a way that seems artificial, and by the aroma I suspected that this would be overly sweet. However, upon tasting, this is actually quite dry. Lots of fruit, mainly apple and pear, meet up with spicy floral components, semi sweet lemon drops, yeast and a fair amount of hops were also detected. Creamy, soft on the palate, overall an easy drinker. No real trace of the ABV. This would score quite higher if it weren't for the artificial aspect in the nose.

Received from Bobsy in a recent trade.

Tasted on July 14, 2009.

The beers pours as a nice pale yellow color. A little bit hazy. The head is big and so beautiful, cloudy style. The aroma is of average intensity. More fruity smell than anything else. I smell some touch of citrus. The taste it is slightly bitter, not much. Not at all complex. I very good beer for the summer. Very refreshing and so easy to drink. A very good thirst quencher.
