Appearance - The head came up perfectly on an easy pour. It was white and puffy and showed good retention. The lacing left on the inside of my glass was remarkable - some of the most complex that I've seen.
Smell - This is some of the strongest Belgian hopping that I've ever smelled. It is extremely rich with loads of depth. It is a fascinating combination of strong subtleness if that makes any sense. The hop aroma is not sharp or harsh but it is incredibly deep and powerful - very vegetative in the best possible way.
There are some classic Belgian spices here to boot. The coriander especially rings in the nose and the white pepper that you find in some BSPAs is here tenfold.
Taste - The intensity from the nose comes out big time at the taste. The spices in particular are huge. If the nose made its mark with balance the taste is thrown into overdrive. The leafy hops will snap your eyes open and there is truly a handsome malt base to this one as well.
Mouthfeel - This is well above medium-bodied with some mild but stubborn carbonation and a presence of bitterness, especially at the finish.
Drinkability - This would undoubtedly have to be the best drink on the planet coming out of a cask. From the bottle it is only slightly short of perfect. It is high-quality Belgian brewing at its best. I'm a big fan of this brewery to begin with but this definitely put me in the "sold" column.

I had a 0.33l bottle of this at Café De Grendelpoort in Valkenburg on 24SEP22. Cost was €4.25.
Poured a clear, rich, deep golden color, with minimal carbo. Had a frothy, fluffy, off-white head which started at 1" and lasted well, with nice lacing. Aroma had some crackery malts, with light, restrained hop action. It was medium in body, with a solid feel overall.
Taste was lightly sweet, with more crackery Pils malt. It was lightly fruity, with green apple, melon and pineapple. Had a smooth finish, with very little bitterness. A decent IPA! Prosit!

March 2009: 330 ml bottle (Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget), ABV is 8.0%. Ingredients include maize and sugar. Pale golden colour, slightly hazy, huge white head. Lovely complex fruity, sweetish and spicy aroma - fruitiness both from the yeast and the hops. The flavour is sweet and spicy with yeasty and fruity notes, and a distinct hoppy bitterness in the finish. High level of carbonation. Alcohol is noticeable.

Beautiful opaque golden body, like lemon custard; aggressively forms a thick, frothy head, with excellent retention of several minutes. Looks don't get better than this.
In the aroma, yeast delivers on fruity esters and spice phenols, coriander and clove; accompanied by lighter notes of citrus and spice hops, lemony.
Interesting marriage of flavours, if you can call it a marriage, as the hops and assertive yeast are a tad contradictory; there's notes of citrus (lemon and grapefruit zest), fruity yeast (golden raisins, like in an oat cookie, banana), umami; mild acidity provides balance, as does noticeable alcohol heat (warming, not burning) and moderate hop bitterness in the finish; finish is off dry, a touch astringent, some of the fruit lingering and some residual sugar leaves it a bit sticky; medium body and medium-high carbonation, which is fine and invigorating, delivering a refreshing and yet smooth feel (owing to the unfiltered yeast I'd guess).
Fantastic look, taste, & feel, with a complex, almost contradictory flavour profile than nonetheless intrigues and makes for a fund drink. Expect something quite different than an American IPA.

Pours orange with a huge cap of dense head.
Smell is yeasty and fruity with some spicy hints and notes of apples, lemon and hops.
Taste follows the nose and adds a solid punch of bitterness. Dry and slightly vinous on the finish.
Mouthfeel is medium, with the typical Belgian carbonation, frothy and full.
Overall, a very nice, tradtional "Belgian IPA". Very well made.

This presents as a a clear amber bottle pour with a 2cm foam cap and an aroma of toffee and banana-bubblegum esters.
The flavor rich full without overt sweetness. There is deep caramel with roasted apple, candi-sugar and a slight woody note.
The mouthfeel is a bit sticky.
I really like this brew. -one of the best of this style that I have enjoyed.

L- Quite pale amber, pours with slight haze and 15mm pillowy fine-bubble head. (+ layer of sediment remains stuck fast to the bottom of the empty bottle). ps. Beer now almost gone 20mins later and 3-5mm of head remains, with lacing down side of glass.
S- A light piquant spicyness.
T- There is a clear zone of vibrant spciy notes on the palate with this one. It's typical of the Belgian trad/higher ABV% style. Though yes the hops are a touch more prominent than in a typical Trappist dubbel/tripel.
F- It's 8.0% and I deffo get that coming through in the mouthfeel. It's quite pungent, but the usual 8% Trappist Feel is balanced out by additional hopping.
O- I like it. I can drink one Belgian dubbel or Tripel in an evening before moving to less full-on brews. But with this one, the additional hopping brings a balance and hence the profile is less full-on and I expect if I chose to I could enjoy 2-3 of these in a row...
