Here in the ultra-superstitious US of A, the bottle has a picture of a cute little satan guy on it. It's so weird to me, how variable cultures are when it comes to what is or is not a transgression against religious symbolism.

Anyhow, this is a regular old Belgian strong-strength pale. Pours very hazy and honey-colored with a wee little wisp of a head.

Smells sweet and yeasty with nodes of honey, white pepper, and booze.

Tastes... fizzy. The fizz is intense and blots out much of the front end. The middle has strong nodes of honey and hay along with some light vanilla, and the finish is crisp and citrusy with some white pepper and alcohol on the finish.

From a 750 ml bottle in a snifter. This Belgian ale pours a cloudy
amber tinged straw color with a moderate head of white foam that
settles to a thin ring, thin layer, and light lacing. Nose of sweet candy malts,
zesty hops, subtle herbal and citrus notes, and light yeast notes. Flavors lightly
exceed the flavors with candy sugars balanced by light lemon zest and lightly
bitter hop notes mingling with light notes of cracker and subtle white peppery
notes. Excellent mouth feel; lightly warming, very dry on the finish, and medium low
carbonation. Overall a nice little brew.

Cheers

Pours a hazy to cloudy colour of a potato chips bag. Plenty of foam, especially when you first open the bottle.

Belgian yeast, candi sugar, caramel malt, fruity hops with a tinge of tartness.

Yeasty taste. Some candi sugar, fruity light tartness, kinda hoppy. Smell is superior to taste but it is still quite drinkable.

Fairly light bodied with light carbonation despite all that foam.

Dated April 23rd 2014. Best by or bottled on?

Hazy golden beer with huge white head, excellent retention.
Smell - yeasts, citrus, spices, apple, pear.
Taste follows the smell, moderately prominent alcohol, some bitterness in the finish.
Medium body and high carbonation.

Hazey golden color. Light head. Nose typical Belgian: spicy fruits, sweet malts, grassy and beady. Taste much the same as nose plus hints of hops, alcohol comes through (which I like), grape, Apple, citrus. Finish is crisp and sweet. Belgium does what it does best. If your a fan of the style this one should suffice without the chamay price tag.

Is it possible to have more head than Duvel?

Yes

Lucifer is real, Duvel also means devil, in both the head is trying to escape...

Ok though just not as good as Duvel...

Bought the 750ml bottle. Rated highly at Total Wine & More. Cork w/cage to open
Appearance: light blonde with lots of carbonation. Medium head when poured into glass.
Aroma: Very friuty/sweet aroma. Couldn't smell the bitter hops
Taste: Not as sweet as it smells. Bitter taste that blends well with the alcohol taste you feel at the end.
Feel: dry, bubbly. Don't want to confuse it with a champagne, but characteristics are there.

Overall: 90/100 This beer has the looks of a Belgium, smell of a Belgium, but not quite the taste of an exact Belgium which makes it an intriguing choice to try. Definitely a decent/good offshoot of a traditional Belgium, but definitely not a traditional Belgium Triple/Dubble/Quad(where I found it).

Review: Bottle of Lucifer Beer: ABV: 8.00%

Bought in Lidl and brewed by Het Anker. Attracted by the name and the imagery on the bottle, a very retro look, Lucifer himself holding a pitchfork surrounded by fire.

Very bubbly on opening, an awful lot of carbonation, Jesus!

Too much head, HUGE, that sticks around, forever. Takes ten minutes to die down, half the beer fizzled away, Must be the bottle, A murky yellow colour, not a good start.

I dont know if it was the bottles but too much fizz, ridiculous, undrinkable.

The smell was quite strong on the nose, wow. Can really smell the hops. Even though its strong it is pleasant to smell. A lovely beery aroma, with a sweet lemon citrus note.

Very sweet taste, sweet malts initially, with a bit of fruit,
Deep aftertaste, Ok, very bitter in the end, earthy hops, and lingers long
Nice enough I guess, Manageable
Very strong, can definitely feel the alcohol!

Not sure about this one to be honest. Didn’t really enjoy at the start, but there was enough in it to make me think again, perhaps that was the alcohol kicking in, which does creep up on you in this beer. Had a cunt of a head the next day, was hellish! Lol
