Home of 500 imports and craft beers is the sign you'll see in the front. Just a little country store I thought it was a joke at first. Upon entering I was very pleased. Linda was very helpful and very knowlegable about her beers. It is obvious that she takes pride in her bussiness. I spent over a hour trying to decide which beers I wanted to try. Linda will allow you to pick apart any six pack and mix singles to make your own six pack, which is great idea in allowing you to try the different styles and flavors. I asked if I could request some beers and was told to bring back my list and she would if she can get them. I'm curious to see if she'll stands up to her word.

I am a home brewer and BJCP judge. I have no affiliation with this store other then being a non paid consultant and paying customer of this establishment.

I have helped Linda establish her craft beer selection, as of now she has 400+ craft beers in the store. This is certainly the largest selection of craft beer in Lapeer County, and of the many Craft Beer stores I have been to she ranks right up there at the top for selection in the state. The previous poster is correct about the guy who works the weekends. He doesn't know anything about beer other then to open the can and tip it back.

I have armed the owner with information and the ability to answer most questions about the beer she carries. If you are heading North past this store let it be known it is your last stop for quality beer. Any farther and you will only be able to buy Sam Adams, some Bells and maybe some Sierra Neveda. If your Lucky!

In the middle of Lapeer county, you don't find a helluva lot of craft beer. You don't find a lot of anything, to be honest. But if you follow Van Dyke up, up, up, and keep going, you'll find Linda's Country Store. Appearing to be a boring nic-nac shop pleasantly placed off the road, the buisness is actually a nice suprise. Upon entering, you'll find a wad of old, classic and hard to find Brewerania, and a superb selection of micro and import beers ( and of course, a mild selection of macros ). I was delighted to find a healthy supply of Bells HopSlam, Founder's Breakfast Stout and Devil Dancer, all at a price which was actually a buck or two less that what i'd pay in the big city. The service leaves a bit to be desired, as the guy behind the counter seemed more interested in when he got off work than if I had any questions, but such is to be expected in such a small store. He was friendly enough, but to quote him, he didn't "know shit all 'bout them beers". He said the owner was out, but was a big micro brew fan, and he was the one to talk to about the stock. The pricing was fair, if not better on a few items that I find in the 'burbs, and the selection was good, with a few Belgians catching my eye, as i'd not seen them at my local beer stops. If you're in the area, or goin' up north hunting, make a stop. This place is a nice diamond in the backwoods dust.
