Shared 500 ml bottle at local tasting, BB date 01.02.2014, from CITTI-Markt Flensburg. ABV is 5.6%. Deep golden to amber colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma, some weak fruity notes. Some malts in the flavour, a slight sweetness and a little fruit, not very better.

Pours clear amber with large white head with good retention. Aroma is malt with a small touch of herbal hops.

Taste is caramel malt, slightly sharp bitterness and dryish finish, hints of wood in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is light, moderate carbonation.

Overall, did not like this one, one bottle is more than enough.

I enjoyed this one - nice taste with a rich amber appearance. Not expensive at all, so a great deal as well. Mouthfeel was not outstanding and this is not a heavily carbonated Urtyp. But, the taste was nice with a hint of a woody aftertaste (good). Not bad for a northern produced Marzen/Oktoberfest bier.

Bottle acquired in REWE stores, Berlin, on June 3rd 2011. Reviewed live and enjoyed with some pretzels. Bottle poured into a Guinness pint glass.

A: Four finger head of lovely cream, nice thickness, and good retention (~ 2.5 minutes). Textbook copper colour - semi-transparent.

Sm: Cream, hops, a bit of malt, and pleasant barley. A light scent but a good one. A bit of alcohol is present, however. I hope I'm mistaken given how low ABV this beer is.

T: It's actually rather bland. A maltish mildly hoppy climax is its best feature. The open is blank malt riding over top a weak barley foundation. Bleh. Some cream enters on the finish, but the climax is so close to the finish that you don't get a real chance to enjoy it. For the style, it's built rather poorly. For a beer, it's below average but not awful. Moderately unbalanced, especially when you factor in the bland open. It does have some merit as an afternoon October beer.

Mf: Smooth and entirely too wet. No coarseness to coax out the flavours, even when the climax comes. Downright bad, and unsuitable for both the style and the flavours of the body.

Dr: Very affordable (I think it was around .40 Euro), but certainly not anything special. Look elsewhere for Oktoberfest beers - but not Munich during October unless your wallet is bigger than your brain.

I poured this one from a 0,5 liter bottle, which is the standard size bottle in Germany. Colour is orange/gold and with a pilsner type head. Some course and some fine bubbles.
Smell is malty and bitter, typically German I would say.
Taste is bitter and dry, with a slight maltiness, a very drinkable beer.
This beer tastes like a typically German pilsner, with difference in body, which is bigger and a slight raise in alcohol.
Decent beer!
