I live almost equidistant from this place and the Brew and Grow in Boilingbrook. I pretty much always shop here because I prefer the selection and know Kyle, the owner, fairly well.

I'll preface this by saying I buy all of my base grains and most of my hops in bulk from somewhere else so I can't comment on their prices for base grain.

I do almost all of my small odds and end shopping here; a lb or two of specialty grain an ounce of a particular hop, yeast, small equipment or large equipment if it's priced competitively. For the most part I'm happy with the prices and the grain, hops and yeast selection seems to always be improving. I rarely come in with a specific grain in mind and walk out empty handed. Kyle is more than happy to special order a particular yeast for me or equipment he doesn't have on hand.

Kyle is pretty knowledgeable in all things homebrewing and I'm pretty sure he does a demo brew every Saturday which is great for new brewers looking for information.

It costs a little more than brew n grow, but closer for those of us in Dupage county. The service is exceptional. They have a good selection. Kyle is extremely helpful.

Visited this place to pick up a kit and ingredients for my first homebrew! This is a hole-in-the-wall kind of place at the intersection of 83 and North, far from the glitzy downtown Elmhurst. That being said, this is a well stocked, well kept shop that leaves little to be desired.

They have good kits and plenty of accessories (hop bags, corny kegs, hand mills, etc.) There is everything you need for an kit, extract, or AG setup. The grain selection was good: all the usuals and adjuncts like flaked rye/oats and lactose. The only grain I want that they don't carry is pale chocolate malt. Hops are many and fresh and the yeast is weeks old.

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly and made proper substitutions for hops and yeast (Wyeast to White Labs). It also looked like it was well stocked for winemaking (if that's your thing).

Overall, with the ingredients and equipment purchased here, I had no problems whatsoever and my first brew turned out great! Awesome place!

This is the only brew store I shop at now . They are very helpful with any questions you might have and always have the anwsers. They have everything you could possibly need for homebrewing and winemaking and at reasonable prices . I was shopping at other brew stores before but am very glad i went in here . Everytime Ive been there they are brewing something right there in the store and I dont know about you but I LOVE the smell .I feel that I have defintely become a better brewer since starting to shop here ,with the advice I have gotten .Go check it out you wont be disappointed .
