Golden-hued, crisp and finely balanced, Lug Tread is our tribute to the classic beer of Cologne, Germany. Lug Tread is top fermented (like an ale) and then cold aged (like a lager) for a lengthy period. This gives our beer some light ale notes complemented by a lager-like crispness. Lug Tread displays interwoven malt and hop flavours, subtle fruit flavours and a crisp, lingering finish.

Interesting lagered ale.
Yellow-gold colour, lemon and grass on the nose. Good carbonation. Kind of an odd but not unpleasant flavour moving from slightly sweet to slightly sour.

Just not what I look for in a beer and for over a dollar more a can really didn't hold up.

A nicely balanced Kolsch. Very drinkable. Pours a pale yellow with white lacing head. Highly carbonated. The nose is grassy. Flavors are of grass, grain, malt and biscuits. Slightly bitter.

Moderate head that settles to a film that still manages to give up splotchy lace as it goes. Clear rich gold colour. Malty sweet nose over grassy hops. Noticeable grain and some fruitiness (apples). Appetizing. Mouthfeel is slightly heavy, but not oppressive like some others of the style. Hops give the brew enough sharpness to cut through some underlying sweetness. Drinkable, but maybe a little too weighty to be drinking a ton of. Well made.

This is a great tribute to the descriptions of a Kolsch. The beer has great clarity, no sulphury smell. The taste is pretty crisp with a great mouth feel. There is a slight sharpness detected at the end.

Look: Pale yellow, crisp white head 1 finger. Disapates to a small head across the top at 5 minutes. Very carbonated.
Smell: Grassy and grainy. Green apples, and maybe some cloves. Could use a bit of strength.
Taste: Grassy, tastes like a standard macro brewery lager on the front end. Interesting after taste of toast with a hint of spearmint.
Feel: Light, with a bit of cream. Very crisp and snappy.
Overall it's OK. A little nicer as it warms but pretty pedestrian. Thiis beer earns a strong B- or weak B.

As it pours, it's highly fizzy, clear and pale straw color. The head is initially thick but recedes to a thin line. Aroma has a peach punch to along with the grain/cereal overtones. The beer is nice balance of slight bitterness, citrusy flavours finished off with sweet smoothness. High carbonation.

Look: straw yellow with a one-finger head.
Smell: overwhelmingly citrusy. The entire room smelled lemons or limes when I opened the can.
Taste: citrusy, crisp and kind of pleasant at first, but not reminiscent of a kölsch at all. Got almost undrinkable on the back half, it got so sour. No lightly bitter clean finish that I like in the style.
Mouthfeel: nicely carbonated, a little dry.
Overall: Not what I think of in a kölsch.
