On tap at Bar Volo. Dirty blond appearance, virtually no head. A little funky peppery spicy nose. Smooth mouthfeel, well carbonated. A sipper, and tasty, with white pepper,a little salt, cardomon, a bit of ginger and other nondescript spices. Some chocolate malts. A tad of smoke and of booziness in the finish. Good drinkability

Bottle: Poured a light yellow color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of tart notes with light mango notes is pleasant. Taste is a nice mix of light mango notes with some tart and sour notes. Body is light with good carbonation. The mango notes could be even more straightforward but nevertheless this is a nice refreshing take on the style.

On tap at The Only, served in a tulip. Cloudy, light pale yellow with hints of orange, ring of bubbles is all - little head for style. Served way too cold.

Nose is musty, hints of citrusy sweetness and tang, grainy and perhaps a hint of pepper. Moderate spicing, slightly herbal, quite sweet, with mango attributing to some of this. Light tart finish, slight drying - but mostly sweet. Sharp carbonation on par for style, missing a drier finish. Pretty basic, actually disappointing for the depth these 2 brewers show on their own.

On tap at the Victory Cafe, into a flared pint glass or something stupid.

Lightly hazy browned yellow. Light white head, no lacing. Nose has some cracker, grains, saison yeast and a bit of fruitiness. As a saison with mango juice added, I'm not really getting too much overt mango flavour. Taste is drying right off the bat, some yeast, grains and fruit juice along the lines of mango and citrus perhaps. Body is fairly watery, light spiciness. An OK saison, but not all that interesting. Not enough mango character either I thought.

Beau’s Wild Oats Series #20. Mango-infused saison brewed in collaboration with Le Trou du Diable from Shawinigan, QC. Bottle #0113 was packaged on May 23, 2012 (two days ago). Love the devilish Beau’s Tractor art, would buy it on a t-shirt. Chilled to about 8C, served in a wine glass.

Pours a cloudy, light orange colour. The medium-sized head burns off quickly, but it hangs around as a stringy collar throughout the glass. No lacing, but left some speckles on the glass like sugar water.

Smells very earthy, like fresh grasses and grains. The strong citrus overtone surprisingly reminds me more of pineapple than mango. There’s also a soft yeast tone and some mild floral hops.

Earthy and grainy taste with a honey-like sweetness. Again, the mango comes off more as a pineapple flavour. There is also a hint of butter.

Thin-bodied with a mild carbonation, the yeast provides a pop on the tongue. Nicely tart finish with a lemon zest note in the aftertaste.

Interesting beer, but something is holding it back. In fairness, I was expecting a deep orange, mango flavoured beer. The saison part is nice, just not sure about the added flavour.

600 ml bottle served cold into a pint glass. Purchased as part of "best of 2015" pack. Cost ended up as $6.50 CDN. Nothing like a tropical saison on one of the coldest days of the year to get you thinking about summer. Bottled November 4, 2015.

Appearance - The beer pours a hazy pale golden color that is more orange outside of direct light. A fine finger and a half of brilliant white head forms and recedes slowly leaving a plethora of lacing. Some visible carbonation.

Smell - starts like many in the style, a little earthy and dank with some fruity esters shining through. Mango shows more here than in others, but considering it is one of the focal points of the beer, it is rather quiet.

Taste - Mild, with some earthy bitterness and a hint of mango. Sweetness is low, with yeasty and wheat flavors filling the gaps. Wish the mango was dialed up just a bit more, but still a passable saison.

Mouthfeel - Smooth, light body, crisp carbonation. Pretty good feel overall.

Overall - A nice spin on a saison, but I'm not sure Fous Allies deviates quite enough from a standard saison to make this truly interesting. Still very well made by two of Canad's more prominent craft breweries, so certainly future collaborations will be worth investigating as this one is.

See-through golden beer with a huge white head with big bubbles and lots of carbonation. Fruity smell, mostly hoppy. You get grapefruits, oranges and citrus in the nose with a subtle aroma a mangoes. You also have a grain and yeast smell. Definitely less hoppy in the mouth, you taste more the mangoes than you smell them, nice wheat presence in the mouth. Overall it's a nice fruity saison but from a collaboration between Beau's and Trou du Diable I expected something better.

Appearance - Poured into a 12 oz beaus tulip glass This beer pours a slightly hazy gold with 3 fingers head that dissipated in a few minutes leaving a thick film common of beaus beers.

Aroma - mango, cut grass, earthy hops, some floral hops, spices. wheat.

Taste - Mango, eathy bitterness, wheat, floral flavors, peppery spice.

Feel - light almost watery with prickly carbonation, nice and refreshing for a summer day.

Overall - this is a fairly decent beer overall, If it was warm out I could see myself on the balcony with a pint of this and a good book. it starts sweet and earthy and finishes dry not a bad beer at all,
