A white beer brewed with additions of oats, honey, and molasses. “Zins Jo Kokot!” is a cry that celebrates a local tradition in Cottbus, Brandenburg, where the Kotbusser style originates.

Private Beaus buying club. Dirty blonde, some lace. Pilsner and other hops. Not much taste but a passable drinking beer. Some sulpher. Mollasses, some honey, more hop character would make it better. It had to be executed clean and precise to work fine.

Wasn't sure whether I should put this under the catch-all herbed/spiced beer category or something like kristalweizen. I went with the former.

Pours a clear gold. Finger of snow-white head. No lacings.

Aroma is grainy sweetness with noticeable honey.

Clean grain up front. Mid-palate is all mild sweetness. Honey and a bit of caramel (from the molasses.Finish gives you a good hit of bitter continental hops, grassy, slightly herbal.

First exposure to this style A good session wheat, though I'm thrown off by the malt. Wheat and oats, but it has a very simple profile. Hoping for something a bit more complex.

Bottle shared by Steve, 600ml into a tulip. Wild Oats Series #26.

Pale yellow, light head and retention. Nose of wheat, some funk, a bit of sulphur, pilsner malt, grains, and some faint citrus. Taste has sweet grain notes, some sweet breadiness and mild spicing. Medium body, medium low carbonation. OK for a traditional ale, and my first foray with the kotbusser style, but nothing terribly exciting.

Appearance: It has a nice semi-cloudy golden/yellow color to it. It has a nice thick white head that dies down moderately and leaves some lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of wheat malts, grains, some lemon and light honey.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has a some wheat, grains, a light honey sweetness, some spices and a light grassiness.

Mouthfeel: It has a low carbonation with a somewhat light overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with decent flavors and aromas.

Bottle acquired as part of an Oktoberfest mixed 6 pack from the brewery. Poured fridge cold into a beer mug.

Pours a yellowish to amber with a white head. Light esters on the nose. A thick full bodied mouthfeel, but with only a bit of spiciness in the body (from the hops or spices? Not too sure.). Much cleaner finish than expected. Not too sure what to make of this beer, but after reading up on it, I still can't find any of the honey & molasses notes in it.
