Nitro tap in Arlington, VA. Pitch black beer with creamy tan head, good retention and plenty of lacing. Roasty aroma, plenty of rich malt with some chocolate. The taste is rich, roasted malts as well, quite strong for an Irish stout. Milk chocolate notes with a touch of bitterness. The body is quite full for the style with way too much sweetness.

On tap at the brewpub in Westminster, Colorado. Wow, what a head! Reverse cascading -- very pretty.
Nice smell of roast malt and all, but pretty one-dimensional. Not a lot of depth here.
Taste is like the smell -- just dark roast malt, not much else.
Aside from the appearance and the creamy mouthfeel, there's not a lot here.

Presented with a phenomenally cascading head. It finally settles to a finger and a half fluffy light tan head that hung around to the end without disseminating an iota. The beer is pitch black. Smells flat coffee roast with a hint of cream and some chocolate with searching. Taste is roasty and dry. Coffee that's dry almost as if some grainy bit of roast malt were hanging around. I get some grassy hop of fuggles character. With searching, some chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is very mild. Enjoyable, but a bit bare in my mouth on a hot summer evening.
