Dark brown with ruby sides, smallish head.
Earthy, coffeeish aroma...bittersweet and roasty, like an good porter ought to be...
Taste: more bittersweet and roast, plus espresso tinges...nice, but not too full, not too thick, very mellow, great flavor. Supreme drinkability. Dry and nutty finish. Full body, yet quite approachable. Great balance, smooth, smooth. A nice bridge between a supple, simple brown ale and a heartier, beefier porter.
Well done, Bryon...I'd have this again anytime. Luckily, I still have the rest of this growler...

Mainly black in color with a little brown and even less crimson around edges. Nice caramel colored head that retains well as a film. The aroma is very sweet, a bit like chocolate, but more like molasses, also with a roasted malt/coffee like character. The taste is very sweet, a bit cloying. It tastes a lot like brown sugar, and there is a slightly bitter roasted coffee-like flavor as well. The finish has a little apple cider/fruity flavor, but is still dominated by the molasses and roasted flavor, with a barely noticeable floral hop flavor as well. I was surprised the mouthfeel wasn't chewy at all for how sweet and sticky the flavor is, it was almost a bit chalky and dry. I found this beer a little too sweet to have more than one or two.
