On tap at the pub, 11/9/11.

A-Pour is a clear honey amber with good sticky lacing and a frothy white head.

S-Sweet malt, light hops.

T-Sweet and citrusy, nice bitter hops well balanced with malt. Quite tatys.

M-Light side of medium, good carbonation.

O-Very tasty IPA, a fine example of the style.

Haven't had any Rock Bottoms since I was in the Midwest (Milwaukee). Thought I'd give this a try while I was tasting at the San Diego International Beer Festival.

A little darker than most ipas. Came off an opaque kind of brown if that makes sense. Aroma was disappointing, seemed like they put just a smidge of simcoe and amarillo in just to say they did. Taste, unexceptional, almost boring. Good? Sure. Good enough for a place that is a restaurant first, chain second, brewery third. Would I drink it again? If I was at the restaurant, yeah, but I wouldn't go out of my way for this. Was too heavy on the caramel which drowned out the hops and bitterness.

SRM darker than average for an ipa. Light brown, auburn, amber kind of feels to the color. Aroma was mild for an ipa.

Taste was ok, a little bit of simcoe hops I would surmise, amarillo, but less than a serious ipa would offer up. For a chain restaurant, its ok. Nothing 'bad' but I could do without the excessive amount of crystal and maybe even brown malt in this one. Just took the hops down a notch, and they were already in light supply for style.
