First had: on tap at Rock Bottom, King of Prussia, PA

I was a bit sad to see that Rock Bottom's KoP branch had made some drastic changes. First off, their signature beers are now apparently gone: Lumpy Dog, Penn's Curse (my fav), Prussian Pride. Second, to my wife's dismay, no more half-price martini Fridays. :( (Of course this didn't stop her from getting martinis.)

Anyway, despite that, I was happy to see a new schwarzbier on the menu, similar as it may have been to their Nevermore Lager. Poured into a jumbo mug a dark black-brown with a small, sturdy mocha head that dissipated almost completely but left some soapy lacing on the way. Aroma of malts and more malts. Taste of--you guessed it--malts, roasted dark ones at that, with light notes of dark chocolate and hints of licorice and surprisingly, plum. Medium body, maybe just a bit too light, but still good, smooth, and very drinkable.
