This is the most capable beer that Rock Bottom can brew. Everything they make has a certain water downed BMC tone. This is something they should excel in. Decent, well carbonated and light. Everything the masses would want and expect. Easy drinking and non-obtrusive. Nothing I would seek again, but again, this wasn't made with me in mind.

This is the brewery's nod to the typical American consumer who would rather have a name-brand light American lager, made by the big boys. Fortunately, this one is a little better than those big ones, but not much. It is very colorless, but does have a decent head and a decent lacing. On the palate, it is a bit tart, but has virtually no taste on the finish. It has the consistency of water in the mouth. I can't blame a microbrewery restaurant in the U.S. for having a beer like this for the masses; at least it leaves more of the good brews for me.

Appearance - light, bright coppery color; a thin standardish head with no retention. A light bead.

Aroma - faint grainy sweetness, fresh but nothing spectacular.

Taste - the lightest flavored beer in the RB stable, but no slouch by any means. Fairly robust grain presence. Aftertaste/Finish is a pretty good rehash of the grains. Average but fresh and tasty.

Mouthfeel - average body, decent carbonation/weight.

Drinkability - easy to drink and fairly sessionable, but RB has better options for that...

Tasted at the Cincinnati location as "Cincinnati American Light". It is next to impossible to keep all the Rock Bottom beers straight. The beer is a light gold color and mildly fizzy with a thin white head. Light lacing. Faint hops aroma. Light-bodied and crisp, but not much in the way of flavor at all. Finish maintains crisp aspect but doesn't save this rather boring beer.

A good light lager beer for the majority of the food customers. This is a very nice pale lager that keeps the promise of delivering some nice taste while looking like the average American macro. It is a clear yellow/light gold with decent white head with good retention. Good lacing down the glass. Appears to be "lite" only in name although the taste is quite mild. Good hop balance against the malt base.
