The wife and I stumbled on to this place after getting completely lost in SE Washington.... Damn glad we got off track. I had a nice sampler while talking to one of the Boise peeps about what brews I was bringing back... after just a whiff and a small taste, I knew this was a winner that got a coveted spot in the cooler.

32oz Mason Jar shared among the usual suspects Monday evening.

Pours with a long lasting pure white head.. the brew is a hazy orange.

Beautiful "real" strawberry in the nose.. lite maltiness helps really make the olfactory sensors know this is the elusive strawberry.

Flavor has more strawberry and it is welcome given most strawberry beers are pretty poor at putting the fruit into identifiable regions. The malts are soft and more on the sweet side.... definitely not "sweet", but are a delivery device for the fruitiness that I am really digging.

Surprising medium body... carbonation is smooth and everpresent small bubble.. very nice.... I really appreciated the nuances on this one.

This would be amazing with the "Strawberry Fields" cupcake from Lilly Janes.... Damn damn damn.. I must start thinking about these random pairings once I get back into town.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass. This beer seems to be extremely super-carbonated and filled my glass with 7 fingers of foam upon first pouring. Whoa, there!

Appearance: light golden hue with a moderately light haze and a strong effervescence. After a second, much more ginger pour, I managed to only get 5 fingers of foam atop. A reasonable looking beer, if rather inconvenient.

Smell: light aroma with a light strawberry character. It's kind of a like a low-key strawberry frosting. It may not float everyone's boat, but it is definitely as-advertised -- so you take your own responsibility here.

Taste: very light malt flavor with a bit of tart strawberry atop. I've always felt strawberry is just a bit too subtle for most beer applications, but here it works OK. The underlying cream ale is probably pretty featureless. It's not bad for what it is.

Mouthfeel: light body with a big, big, big carbonation, which translates into a nice enough creaminess.

Overall: refreshing and drinkable, the light tartness really adds something to it. This beer suffers from the problem of probably-unintended bottle refermentation because of a fruit addition (see 10 Barrel Swill for the archetype of this problem). It's annoying, but really doesn't impact the beer's drinkability.
