Draft pint at Phoenix.
Surprised to see an IPA on tap, so had to try it.
Dark yellow gold with short white head. Sticky lace left while the foam kept hanging around.
Aroma of pine and citrus, just as expected.
The taste has lots of IPA bitterness, but not over the top or too harsh.
Some pine, grapefruit and pineapple, caramel malts. All well balanced.
The mouth is thicker than expected, nice dry bitter finish.
Easy drinking, full flavored. A nice surprise from GB.

Sipping one at SFO airport at Gordon Biersch. Not impressed.
L - Just looks...off. Has a slight orangey hue to it...but almost a mustard yellow
S - Very little.
T - Very thin. Just one dimensional. Tastes like a lager but with an unbalanced hippy aftertaste. Overall one of the worst IPAs I’ve had of late.

S - Very little.
T - Very thin. Just one dimensional. Tastes like a lager but with an unbalanced hippy aftertaste. Overall one of the worst IPAs I’ve had of late.

I was kind of surprised to find an IPA at GB. The bartender told me the brewers now have more flexibility to brew. I was glad to see them join the party.
Served in the standard GB glass, the beer is dark gold with serious chill haze. You can't see through this one. Nice thick and sticky white head.
It has a nice aroma of pine and citrus.
The taste is bitter but not out of balance. There is pine resin, a hint of tropical fruit, caramel malts all in harmony. This is a nice American IPA
The mouth is coating, oily and borderline thick (these are all good qualites).
It is an easy drinking well hopped IPA. Nicely done GB!

I had this beer on-tap in a half-liter pint glass at the Seattle brewery. The menu calls this an IPA-style lager.
Appearance: nice orange hue with just a dash of haze and a thick finger of frothy ivory foam. Quite attractive.
Smell: nice hop aroma with a fruity and piney character. Just enough sweetness to elicit a bit of candy fruitiness. I like it.
Taste: rich piney hops atop a sweet and caramelly malt base. Tasty and pretty well balanced.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a decently drinkable IPA-type beer.
