SommerBrau is a Kölsch-style beer. Kölsch literally means the beer of Cologne, Germany. This beer style is a light bodied beer fermented using a special top fermenting yeast strain which we import specially from Germany to brew it true to style. The pinpoint bitterness of the German Tettnang hops and crisp finish make this beer perfect for summertime enjoyment. Prost!

Pours a clear light golden color with a very thin white head that quickly fades to a light ring and leaves little lacing.
Light bready, malty aroma. Some grass and grain show up as well but overall this aspect isn't all that appealing.
Taste comes off better with toasty malts upfront along with graiin and grassy hops in the background. A very faint hint of citrus also shows up toward the end. Again, nothing special but still refreshing and much more pronounced than the weak aroma.
Light to medium body with light carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel. Not too bad, drinkability is fairly high, seems like a decent summer beer.

Picked up a growler at the Glendale AZ restaurant courtesy of a friend on 6-26-18.
Beer poured pale golden with a decent white head with the original pour.
Nose is grainy forward with some light fruits.
Taste is grainy and nutty with a touch of light fruits. Finish has a touch of bittterness.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and refreshing.
Overall a pretty good brew, decent representation of the style.

From the back label: "BOTTLED ON: 13:37 303 04/05/17"
Appearance: The body is crystal clear with a medium-light gold color. The short head is pure white and fluffy with good retention and lacing.
Aroma: There is a light spicy hop aroma with a touch of what smells like corn and a light bit of acetone.
Taste: Up front there is a light nondescript fruity character mixed with an herbal hop flavor. The middle of the palate carries the same flavors but there is a bit of a pine hop bitterness that is added which carries to the finish. The finish has a fairly strong bitterness.
Mouthfeel: It is light bodied with a strong bitterness and good carbonation.
Overall: It is a decent Kölsch with a strong hop bitterness but there is not any malt character in the beer to balance it out. I probably wouldn't buy it again but it's the kind of beer you wouldn't turn down either.
