We stayed at the Monte Carlo for 3 nights and went to The Pub with a group of 10 or so. I'm thinking there's something wrong with their tap system as everything was either very flat or tasted a off. I've been drinking Firestone DBA for years so I know it very well. The one I had here just tasted weird. Also had Sin City amber and some kind of red and they were both flat. Serving craft beer in plastic cups probably doesn't help but there's something wrong with their system.

Beyond the beer its a good place. Good selection and service was solid.

Much better than Tap Sport bar and MGM, Burger Bar and Pub 1842 also at MGM. If you're staying on the south end of the strip this is probably the best. The tap list is much larger than the others mentioned. You may struggle with the lack of stellar brews at any of these, but The Pub, by virtue of the longer list won me over. At least there's more to choose from and I found some decent ones here. Service was great here and the bar tender knew his beer. Yard house at Link has a very long tap list and you might fare better there, but these three are the best on the south end and The Pub is quite decent. Get to Aces and Ales though if you can, its a trip but worth it.

Service was pretty good. Beer selection seemed quite large but it was mostly large selections of a handful of breweries. It was quite pricey but as many have said on here, everything is pricey in Vegas.

The Pub has a niice atmosphere, including a really cool keg setup behind the bar and a beer locker. Great beer selection, including their own Pale Ale brewed locally. Happy Hour prices were pretty good. OK service. Definitely worth a stop if you are at or near the Monte Carlo.

I've been going to the Pub for many years (even back to the days when they brewed their own stuff). They have a wide variety of beers on tap, but they don't do a whole lot of seasonal rotation, so the list tends to stay pretty much the same. Prices are a tad high (its Vegas, so maybe it is to be expected), but 3-6 happy hour on weekdays does make it more reasonable. I prefer Yard House if I'm looking for a multitap place to spend some time

I visited The Pub a few times on my recent trip to Vegas, having stayed at the Monte Carlo. It's definitely the kind of place to go on vacation, and perhaps not a regular spot, based solely on cost -- though on the strip, that's to be expected.

The atmosphere is beer-centric, dark wood and a bit like a chain pub. Not at all bad, it definitely made me want to drink beer. The beer selection is huge, which is great, and there are even some local Nevada craft choices -- maybe not exotic, but it's nice to sample the local flavor. One thing I enjoyed is that they will serve anything that's on draft in a liter -- a truly civilized pour.

Service varied dramatically over the few visits I was there. Mostly the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, but when it gets busy the service can get extremely slow.

The Pub may single handedly make me stay at the Monte Carlo next time in Vegas. The beer selection at this place is legendary. Hundreds of beers are available at The Pub and they make an alright burger as well. The food is overpriced, but hey it's Vegas right?

I was there at lunchtime during the week so their wasn't much going on entertainment-wise but there are over 30 flat screens there, always on sports. There is also a stage/area designated for live entertainment.

The restaurant opens up to the pool area so you can jockey back and forth with ease. If you get the chance, I highly recommend you visit The Pub.

Best overall selection of beers I found on the Strip. Lots of tvs all over the place, with the highlight being the hug screen in the back of the place. Together this made for a nice spot to watch playoff football. Quality of the beer list was good, though great by Strip standards. Service was weak, everytime I needed someone the waitress was never there, whenever I had no need they randomly showed up. The food was generic pub/bar food, I did not care for it at all. Place was expensive, but expected to be given its location.

For the Strip, this place has an excellent selection of craft beer. I had a Sculpin from Ballast Point as well as Jaipur from Thornbridge. I frankly wished I had found this place a little earlier in my trip. The Scuplin as $8 which, again for the Strip, wasn't unreasonable. We did not care for the food, however. My flatbread pizza was undercooked as was the shepherd's pie my husband ordered. I would go back, but only for the beer.

I love the selection. The drifter pale is excellent. Service is horrible. Does not matter if you tip a lot or not. I have been coming to the pub for over 10 years: nothing you do changes the service.

Beer is very expensive and food very lacking. But I come for the beer. Could be great place.

I went here after a suggestion of the bartender at Pour 24 in the NY NY casino.

The bartender said they apparently had 180 taps. Pretty sweet. The tap list had a good amount of macro junk, but they did have a nice book of tap and bottles available. I was also informed about the reserve list as well. There are some nice bottles like Firestone Walker 15 and Sucaba, but at 32 for Sucaba and 60 for 15; I wasnt about to throw down for those.

The tap and bottle list was laid out nicely across styes for Amber, IPA, Belgian, Pale Ale and the like. Most Belgian drafts were not even close to being considered at 15 for a draft pour; but the US Belgians and other moderate gravity pours for the style were ok at about 7-8 bucks a pint. I had some Ommegang Abbey, Firestone DBA, and New Belgium Ranger. All were of good quality and no obvious high age. Turnover rate should be pretty good considering the location and popularity of the casino.

As far as atmosphere it was pretty good. No obscene loud music with the Olympics playing on the TV. Pretty pleasant for a Sunday night.

Overall I would say that this was pretty worthy bar for Vegas. Thy had a lot of good selections on draft and I had enjoyed myself. A very worthy stop for sure in you are in the Monte Carlo casino.

A - A very standard pub feel... Very long bar with lots and lots of taps displayed... Lots of wood throughout...

Q - Definitely a quality establishment... A nice place to stop while in Las Vegas...

Ser - Average at best... Stopped twice on a recent trip sitting once at the bar (where the service was above average) and once at a table during a slow lunch hour (and the serve was average at best)...

Sel - 120 brews on tap and another good number in bottles... Can't much argue with that, though there wasn't anything that really wowed be on the beer list either... Also some sample options and beer float options...

F - Flat bread pizza (Organic Meatball) and onion rings were money... Best meal we had on our recent trip to Vegas (including several stops at quality restaurants)... Very well done...

V - As is the case with most places in Vegas this establishment is a tad bit pricey overall, but average when compared to similar establishments on the strip...

Thanks to BA'ers for pointing this place out.

A - Plenty of sports on the flatscreens, obvious cool craft beer vibe with all the taps. I checked it out on a Sunday night and it was kinda dead. Overall not bad, and you can have a conversation and not yell over music.

Q - Server seemed knowledgeable. Pours were all perfect. In fact the Moose Drool I had on tap had a phenomenal head. It is a restaurant first, but one that does a solid job with beer.

S - Server was attentive, and even followed up when the bartender got backed up filling pints.

Sel - I loved it. Tons of stuff I can't get in NY. The hard part was making up my mind. Menu was organized (something many places screw up). I could find my gems easily, and all were there to try.

F - Decent. Quality food but it is a hybrid of upscale bar food/simple cuisine. I was full and like the sliders I ordered. My wife was equally happy.

V - Even me who lives in the pricey New York City area found it a bit crazy. I didn't mind because I got my fix of great craft, but the bill was heavy (2 burger plates, 3 beers, 1 soft drink = $60) Just be prepared.

I'd go here again, even just for the novelty of trying stuff that is west coast only. Its Vegas; if the bartender doesn't get my cash the dealer will.

Updated 4/3/14 - third time stopping in

Overall, the bar is much unchanged visually - same decor, same bar, etc. the beer list is organized a bit better than the last visit. No typos I could see except a few beers listed under incorrect styles. The menu is still a bit confusing - I like to see draft and bottle seperated out - here they are combined. The "limited reserve" list was all marked as out of stock except for DFH beers. The Squatters I mentioned below is down to 32 - it seems the "limited reserve" list has came down to reasonable bar prices (if they were in stock). The only thing I had to get was an Olde School barleywine for $12- seemed like the only "bargain" to be had. Draft list is still large but dominated by BMC beers. The service was much better. With the exception of food(didn't have any) I'd give it a 3.5 in all other categories this time around.

Original post:
Stopped by here on a recent visit to Vegas. After being somewhat let down by the burger bar at mandalay bay, figured id give this place a shot.

Was here 4 years ago when it was still the microbrewery. Looks a lot the same.

Had some wings to snack on that were so so. I remember the food being better when I was here a few years back.

Service was obnoxiously slow when I arrived, but the servers switched out and things improved a little.

A somewhat treasurous listing of beers at first glance. Most are nothing too exciting or hard to find, with lots of BMC variaties. First pint was a Squatters Hop Rising. Tasted ok, but like it had baked in the hot sun for week or two before being tapped. I would like to try this beer fresh. Fellow BA shared the same feelings about freshness of thier IPA/DIPA. I noticed several typos and duplicates on their beer menu., and found one out by accident. Met a fellow BA here flying solo too, so I ordered us a bottle of Squatters Outter Darkness to share. Bill came and was charged $40 instead of the listed $16. WOW!!! They had it listed in two places with WAY different prices. A quick word with the bartend and he had his manager take care of it. Fyi i looked at their menu online today and it's still F'd up.

Overall, just above average, and one of the few places on the strip to get a non-BMC. Watch the prices as they can get a little crazy (reference the $40 Outter Darkness and just about anything on their big bottle list). This place seems to still struggle to find it's identity. It's like someone half assing what could potentially be a way better place - kind of a shame actually.

The former Monte Carlo Brew Pub is now known simply as The Pub at Monte Carlo. The layout is very much unchanged from it's brewpub days. There's still copper piping in the open industrial style ceiling. The most notable difference is the lit wall of beer names behind the bar as you enter. (and of course the dozens of taps) TV's are about as prominent as any place on the strip outside the sports books.

The beer menu is long, but is heavier on ambers and imports than stouts and IPAs. Really, that's getting nitpicky. There should be something on the menu of interest to just about anybody.

The food menu is full of just about every thing you'd expect to see on a pub menu. Burgers, sandwiches, wings, fish & chips, flat breads/pizza, pasta and salad are all there. The burgers, meatball sliders, and pizza my group ordered were all delicious.

The service here isn't what it should be, especially at this price point. We made two stops here; one at the bar, and one for lunch. The bar visit, there might have been as many bartenders as patrons, but that didn't mean you were going to be served in a timely manner. Lots of guys standing around. The lunch trip was a little better. Our waitress was friendly, but lets just say efficiency was lacking.

Places like this frustrate me. It's so close to being something great, but it's not. It's too expensive for the level of service they offer.

Stopped in here for a beer after dinner at the Burger Bar in Mandalay Place, my first visit since its brewpub days.

The Pub has the feel of a large sports bar with lots of TVs, a long curved bar and plenty of high tops and tables. The tap list is large, even after allowing for the 25 or so taps of non-craft stuff. A good selection of local taps, which would be awesome if those breweries were better. But good grades for effort. Any bar with FW Union Jack gets my seal of approval.

Service was very good. One guy brought me a beer list within a minute of my pulling up a stool. Another was there 90 seconds later to take my order.

My expectations were rather low so maybe that's why I was so pleased with this stop. I'd sooner come here again than, say, the Todd English P.U.B. Prices were high by the standards of Earth outside the Strip but pretty reasonable considering where this place is located.

A- This had the feel of a classy Bdubs to it. Sports bar with Tv's all around and a huge bar

Q-The quality of the food was excelent and the beer quality was excelent too

S-Service was good. our waiter was very friendly and pretty knowlegable about beer and other things on the menu

S-Selection was huge. They have like 70 + taps. now 3/4 are normal stuff but they did have a few unique stuff thats not local to me. They also had a few bottles bu nothing i hadn't seen or heard of.

F-The food was very good. I had the french dip and it was pricey but it was worth it.

V- well your in vegas so u exspect stuff to be more pricey. Happy hour from 3-7 is the time to go to anywhere in vegas or u will get ripped off. The prices were high but we exspected it

Overall this was a nice place to go. Not really a craft beer drinker paradise but over all atleast they offered alot more than BMC which is all over in vegas. We stayed in the monte carlo so thats why we went. I wouldn't say go out of ur way to go here. But if u find urself in the monte carlo and hungry or thirsty def. stop in.

I was at the Brand Steakhouse at the Monte Carlo, one of the three or four best in Vegas, for a business dinner and it was over just after eight so I thought I would wonder over to the pub.I have not been in this pub since they were brewing their own medicore beer. The atmosphere is sort of like a sports bar. The service was slow and unattentive.
They claim they have 70 taps which they do but almost one third are BMC.Trying to find something interesting and different was almost as hard as the Yard House. I settled for a house pilsner, which was OK and a Drifter Pale Ale, this was my first time for this beer and I was surprised how good it was.
If someone were in the Monte Carlo this is not a bad stop for a beer but I would not go out of my way to come here. And a final note, as stated in previous reviews the prices are very high.

Stopped in here on our last full day in Vegas. Being from Ohio, I thought i could find some stuff in here not available to me at home. The bar is long and curved, with an abundance of tap handles. We sat down and waited 5-7 minutes and no one came to take our order. We went down to the other end of the bar and a bartender introduced himself to us and took our order. My wife ordered a domestic draft (2 for 1 happy hour) and I ordered a Firestone Walker Double Barrel. The bartender returned and informed me they were out of it. I then ordered a Kona Fire Rock. He brought me my beer, while my wife sat empty handed. We had to ask him again for her beers. Mine didn't taste like i thought it would, but since I'd never had it had it before, I wasn't sure. I later found out (from the receipt) it was Kona Long Board. I then saw a tasting flight list and decided to try some local stuff. There 9-10 local selections on the list, so I picked out 5. When it was all said and done, they actually had 2 on the local list available. Maybe we just got there on a bad inventory day, but overall I was disappointed that they were out of stock on so many different beers. We likely won't be stopping back any time soon.

I stopped at the Pub in the Monte Carlo Hotel on a mini-pub crawl on the Las Vegas Strip.

Atmosphere is an industrial feel, exposed steel pipes etc. It has a nice casual pub feel.

The pub offers a lot of variety and good quality beer. There are some US and Euro macros but also some quality micro selections.

Service was excellent. At first I sat at one part of the bar and got nothing, but I moved to another seat where an older guy was working and he was awesome.

Selection includes 80 taps at least. Just about everything you can imagine.

Food: NA

Pricing is crazy. There is reasonable value here for the Las Vegas Strip, but you have to watch for it. $7 for my Squaters IPA but they wanted $12 for a Stone IPA. Crazy

Update: (6/2/11) Visited again while on vacation in Las Vegas this past memorial weekend, and had a wax sealed bomber of Joseph James Bourbon Barrel Aged Russian Imperial stout, at the bar (from their cellar) for $20. Not bad considering it's a bar and not retail, and that I've paid twice that for a bomber retail (FF Eclipse as one example) Still a solid place, being on the strip.

Original review - Being this review is on BA, and remembering that when your there, this bar is in a Mega Casino in Las Vegas on the strip, I'd recomend visiting during the afternoon, or lunch time hours. At night, or during say a Pay per view fight, or March Madness, it's a very different experience, and the bar is VERY VERY crowded.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch, and took our time looking over the beer menu, which has over 70 taps on it. A large amount, as you would imagine, are macro's, with some great exceptions though. We both ordered the Russian Imperial Stout from "Fox", which is a local brewery to Las Vegas, and based in Neveda. The RIS was quite good too actually. We followed that up with another RIS from Tenaya Creek, also very good.

The bartender was pretty cool chatting us up, and even said when we inquired about the happy hour speical that started a few hours later "Please, why would I insult you, your drinking $9 beers" which we both thought was funny, and a good point. It is vegas, so the pints were not super cheap, but I've paid more than that, and I apprecaited the sentiment that both he and us knew what quality beer was.

The food was very good too, and recomended for lunch, the sandwiches have a lot of flavor, which being vegetarian, I really appreciated.
If your in Las Vegas, and staying on the strip, anywhere near Monte Carlo, I would recomend this bar.

Looks like the place is geared more towards a sports bar than anything else. Lots of tvs around and NBA and NHL playoff games bring shown. A few groups of fans interested in each game, but not much atmosphere outside of that.

Bartender was run off his feet trying to keep up with people seated at the bar as well as several waitstaff coming up to get drink orders. Not a lot of time for beer chat as the bring your order and head off to the next thirsty customer. That considered they were quick and attentive if a bit rushed.

Heaps of taps but a lot of repeat macro offerings. Bottle selection was good as well with quite a few belgian oddities.

I dontget to Vegas very offten so I admit to being a bit shocked by the prices. Not just how expensive but the variation. Ranger ipa for $7 or Ruination for $15!! Come on. That's just outrageous. Several bottle and taps getting over the $20 range and a few into triple figures. No thanks.

Not a bad place, but not one I would sound a lot f time in. Go for the game, find a decent lower priced beer and drink slowly.

Just came back from vegas and stayed at Monte carlo this Pub had close to a hundred beer taps, tried a new belgium fat tire and lone ranger ipa, dogfish midas, sin city amber stout and weisse, pyramid, alaska amber , teneya creek hop ride ipa among others I wrote down the rest and will update this blog. This was the place to be great beer while your watching March Madness. Bartender set me up with my own flights, would go back again many times and the burgers were to die for. The other reviews that said there were only eight taps have to be old just walk by the place from the lobby and you can see thirty taps.

The first stop in Vegas, I wanted to try some more new beers and this seemed like a good spot.

Unfortunately they were replacing a lot of tap lines in order to expand and most of the local brews were unavailable.

I did end up trying a Tenaya Creek Hefeweizen, a House Pilsner, and a Sin City Amber.

The food was good, but a little pricey, they had a really cheap happy hour special on domestics if that's your thing, but it's not for me.

Not bad... hopefully if I'm ever back they'll have their tap lines straightened out!
