MY 400TH REVIEW!

One of 13 bottles released at the 5th anniversary party last month.

Appearance: Barely a thin ring of foam with tiny bubbles racing up. The body is a dark peach color.

Smell: Bourbon mixed with ripe bananas bordering on banana bread. Heady and powerful, this smells wonderful.

Taste: Bourbon present as well as apples, banana chips, spices and brown sugar. Tiny bit of wood and a leather aspect develops.

Mouthfeel: The purposeful low carbonation is defintely felt and is a bit weird. Otherwise, a full body that is well baloanced.

Overall: I know Fred intends for all his beers to be under- carbonated but i feel it held this beer back from being truly great. Drinks a bit like a spirit.

Thanks to queens1130 for sharing this one at AndrewK's tasting.

Pours a hazy honey orange with no head. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is of malt, honey, cardboard, bourbon, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour malt, honey, fruit, and bourbon flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of wood bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that seems a bit oxidized but is still fairly tasty.
