12oz bottle poured into a New Belgium globe glass.

Appearance - Dark brown/black body. Light brown head with lots of lacing.

Smell - Sweet. Maple. Nutty. Toffee.

Taste - Sweet up front. Malty body with a slight metallic witch hazel astringency in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Slight astringency. Medium-bodied, but seems almost light at times.

Overall Drinkability - Decent beer. Rating it in style, it's pretty good, but I haven't had many.

Not as thick as an imperial stout, but good overall flavor in terms of malt and bitters.

I'm not sure where I got a can of this beer. It poured a murky dark amber with thin white head that is not leaving any lace and is leaving floaties. The scent had a barley wine flare with Belgian accents. The taste was sweet dark Belgian ale. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's an ok beer.

A: The beer is very hazy brown in color. It poured with a short beige colored head that died down, leaving a large patch of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of maple syrup are present in the nose along with notes of chocolate and nutty malts.
T: The taste follows the smell and is mostly dominated by flavors of maple syrup (with a bit of associated sweetness) and has hints of nutty and burnt malts. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found the taste of this beer to have an interesting contrast between the sweetness of the maple syrup and the burnt flavors of malts. It does a good job at masking the alcohol from the taste.

Pouring from a can. Has a nice tan-light brown head of foam with a clear reddish-brown color. The scent comes across as nutty, with a bit of burnt bread and darker chocolate exposing itself. Upon a first sip there is a warm, boozy/malty greeting (brown sugary) -- however the middle and end give way to a bit more bitterness than I was expecting. The flavor at times has an almost burnt candied nut taste that is a bit outside of my wheelhouse. Overall enjoyable, but a bit too much nut-like flavoring for my palate.

The pour is dark brown. The aroma is roasted malt. The mouthfeel is medium. The taste is roasted malt as well along with a coffee note & dark chocolate note. The booze is well hidden for a 9% beer. Cheers! A-

Murky brown liquid; light at the edges.

Khaki head which quickly dissipates but doesn't quite disappear; almost no lacing.

Lightly roasted nuts in the nose; not a huge smell.

Medium thin mouthfeel.

Maple syrup flavor in the taste, plus aforementioned light roastiness.

Pretty good, but not as great as I was hoping.
