A hearty brown ale brewed to celebrate the fall harvest season. Brewed with a hint of spice and a touch of molasses, Small Patch has a malty backbone rounded out by an addition of real pumpkin to the mash and brew kettle.

Poured into a glass, it produced a 2 finger tan head. No real lacing. Beer color is dark, slightly translucent mahogany.
The smell is lager like, with biscuit, and a hint of pumpkin/spice.
Taste was similar, but would have liked more pumpkin, and spice. Medium bodied, and medium carbonation.
It's a nice easy drinking beer. Nothing spectacular, but good.

I like can artwork, great use of colo. The pour is copper colored. Great balance of flavor between the pumpkin & the spices, nothing is overly done here. I'm getting a little sour vegetal pumpkin taste as well, this beer is different from your pumpkin pie type of pumpkin beer. I do see a best by date on the bottom of the can. I think this beer is a little better than just okay. Cheers! B

Pours hazy, dark brown with tints of orange, and 1/4 inch head. Taste is pumpkin pulp, cinnamon, clove, and light nutmeg. Above average for the style, but very traditional. I will get this again because I like the brewery, but otherwise would not seek this out.

Look: Pours a deep, cloudy amber.
Aroma: Spices up front on the nose; cinnamon, nutmeg and clove.
Taste: Not too pumpkiny - which is generally favorable - spices aren't as powerful as the aroma.
Feel: Light-medium bodied. Medium carbonation..
Overall: This wasn't an overly powerful fall beer which makes it easier to have more than one. At the same time, it's rather bland. Not a lot happening but not bad.

Pours a thin, watery cola brown producing a short finger of beige, foamy, shortlived head that leaves little lacing. Aroma is bread crust, molasses, vegetable pumpkin, floral & slight spice. Taste is thin but bready with notes of molasses, weak pumpkin & spice. There is something that is slightly reminiscent of a flat "Dr. Pepper". Finishes with more spice & prickle. Afrertaste is malty caramel & molasses with a vegetable hint. Mouthfeel is light-moderate but thin with moderate carbonation, watery, lightly prickly & dry.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a dark amber with a small off-white head. The aroma is full of pumpkin and molasses. The flavor does not match the aroma. There is a faint pumpkin flavor, nice but I was expecting more. Overall, a very nice pumpkin ale.

had this at the brewery
they put this cinnamon, ginger spice rub on the rim of the glass which makes it hard to review the beer itself
i took home and bottle so i will update my review when i drink it without the rub
pours amber red with a tan head
smell pumpkin sweet and ginger but again that may be the stuff on the rim of the glass
taste sweet pumpkin slight bitter aftertaste
astringent feel
had i known they served it with the rub on the rim of the glass i would have told them to hold off on that
will update when i drink again
update 11.9.15 had this from a 12 oz bottle this weekend without the spices on the rim
its a pretty bland pumpkin ale
poured amber orange with a small off white head that disappeared quickly
somewhat flat looking
smelled of pumpkin only initially but then cinnamon as well as the beer warmed
slight nutmeg also
taste pumpkin slightly sweet
feel dry
overall mehtastic
