I reviewed this place a few years ago, but it's actually changed dramatically since then.
The beer is all located in the back-left corner. There are roughly 15-20 cooler doors and two 25-foot isles full.
Selection is pretty solid. You'll find pretty much every Colorado beer here as well as well-distributed craft items, standard imports, and macros. You'll find mostly 6-packs and singles in the coolers, but there are a ton of 6-packs, 12-packs, and even full cases in the two aisles.
So, why would you go here instead of one of the other big stores in the area? Five simple words: Create your own six-pack.
Yup, there are 3 cooler doors full of some excellent 12oz brews that you can mix and match for $7-8. That's actually unusual in this area, so this is a wonderful novelty. I'd actually suggest it to anyone who's either new or visiting. It's a perfect way to try all of the local items, which are almost all there.
Full and 1/2 cases of some random imports are also a nice bonus. If you're buying in bulk, this is nice stop.
I was only looking around for 5-10 minutes but I was asked if I needed help finding something or if I had questions twice. Considering some stores will NEVER offer assistance, that's rather nice.
Even though it's not my first priority, they also have a good wine selection and a knowledgeable staff for any wine questions, too.
Lukas used to be pretty average at best, but the mixed six packs and recent boost to their selection makes this a terrific stop. This is no longer a forgotten store, but it could be a primary stop for anyone in the Park Meadows area.

EDIT: More and more this shop is doing the right things. they've recently added a walk-in cooler full of bombers of all kinds. In fact, they've got as many if not more than most of the other shops in the area. Lukas also has been good with freshness dates, too. LL is overtaking the other shops in the area as the BA's choice. It's not the biggest, but it's slowly becoming the best.

A supermarket vibe, but the cold bomber storage, the extensive mix 6 selection, and the phenomenal selection more generally make this an impressive store among those I've visited around the country. The service is friendly, and I'd definitely return the next time I am in the area.

Nice place to shop, the store folks were very friendly and helpful, the store is pretty well organized, clean and well displayed. Their selection was OK, pretty much standard for all the big stores in the Metro Denver area. Prices were pretty decent.

Best beer selection in Colorado!!!! Very knowledgeable staff! James is awesome in the beer department and is passionate about his craft. Treats you like a million bucks EVERY time he sees you. Awesome!!! Also, during the summer they have many beer tastings with many of Colorado's finest microbreweries. Serious about your beer? Lukas is the place to go!

Stopped in here while passing through the area. I and heard good things about their bomber selection so I decided to stop in. The store is big although not massive and very bare bones in terms of decorations. But that's not why I got to stores. Their beer selection was fairly decent in fact and had all the important stuff and even a few things like tall grass which were a pleasant surprise. Their bomber room was pretty well stocked with the regulars too and the cashiers were extremely nice. Only ended up buying a firestone walker pint glass and nonic glass (which are sweet btw) and headed out. Probably would stop at davidsons if I was in the area again but I have nothing bad to say about this place.

A- Has a nice liquor store autmosphere with rows ad rows of wine and liquor. Then near the bac is the coolers with tons of craft beer. As well as shelves of warm beer for purchase. But the real gym is someting called "the bomb shelter" that is in the middle of all the coolers and u walk in and there are tons of hard to find and local bombers. This is a place that made me wish i had brought more cash.

Q-Eveything was excellent. Didn't see a expired label anywhere

Ser- The people here were soo friendly and helpful. VEry knowledgeable and nice. One of the best customer service places ive ever been too. this would be my go to store if i lived in Colorado.

Sel- the selection of locals and other craft beer was great. U could do mix and match 6 packs. and as i already said there Bomb shelter selection of bombers was 2nd to none

F-didnt have any

v-Very good prices. Everything was a dollar or 2 cheaper than i remember seeing in other stores in the area

Overall this was an awesome place and i would reccomend you go here if ur out of town or in the area. Only reccomendation is that tey have free coats u can borrow as u look at the selection in "the bomb Shelter"

Lukas is your typical big-box liquor store, clean aisles set up grocery store style, fluorescent lighting...

Selection is huge, and pretty much all refrigerated. Doored coolers at the back of the store hold a wide range of sixers and such, a mix of craft, pseudo-craft, and macro stuff. There's also a decent selection of singles, with a few worth picking up but hardly representative of what's available.

The real gem here is the walk-in cooler, which is packed with bombers, 750s, and select six- and four-packs. Great representation from the locals here, with some really obscure stuff that I didn't see elsewhere. All the great Colorado breweries were represented in addition to plenty of regional brewers. Lots of Russian River, and a whole line of Lost Abbey and a good number of Pizza Port, to include Red Poppy, which I didn't see anywhere else.

Service was quality. I ran into the beer guy (or one of them) in the walk in cooler. He was friendly and happy to walk a non-local through some of the more obscure breweries, and knew his stuff pretty well. Of course, as he was back in the cooler, if you were simply roaming the aisles good service might have been harder to come by.

As mentioned in other reviews, I found a greater variety of out of state beers here than in other places. If you go here, you must go into the aforementioned bomb shelter, the selection in there is the real draw here... I'll leave it at that. Otherwise it was a good hybrid to the big box liquor stores that have lots of the bigger breweries and the smaller specialty beer shops that have some of the smaller breweries. If I was looking for something in Denver and was unsure if it would be easy to find, this might be the first place I look. Staff was excellent as well and really knew about beer. Now if one could only take this and transfer it to a bigger store with a selection of every thing that would garner a perfect score.

Hit up this place on my quest for 3 or 4 bottles of The Dissident, which turned out to be ... epic ... epic but successful. Didn't find any The Dissident, but did find a pretty wonderful bottle shop.

Outside of the massive display of 3 French Hens (here and Colorado Blvd were the only places I would find this winter treat), the real gem of this store is the Bomb Shelter, a walk-in bomber cooler with a few shelves packed with tastiness.

While the size of their collection is limited compared to Davidson's down the way, the quality is certainly better. Inside their bomb shelter I found 2 Fantome varients, Black and Blue, Older Viscocity and Deliverance every RR sour that distributes to Colorado, some in multiple batches, and a wonderment of lip-licking Shelton Brother imports put an unexpected dent in my pocket book.

Outside of selection, Lukas seems to get every bottle a week or so before anyplace else. While I was there I talked to one of their beer guys, and a distributor who was placing advertisements in the store, and my conclusion on this is that Lukas has a very good relationship with their distributors.

In any case, this shop is no joke, and is about as good as it gets in the Denver area.

Lukas has become my go-to liquor store since I moved to Colorado.

The selection is usually excellent, with a wide range of year-round and seasonal brews from a variety of breweries. The aspect I love is their bomb shelter - a walk-in part of their fridge that is all bombers. This is usually where many of the special releases are stored, as well as standard bombers and a good number of Belgian and other European bottles.

Service is excellent. The folks there are usually always willing to help and are fairly knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Hands down the best liqour store I have ever been in. Since becoming a customer at this place, I rarely find the need to go elsewhere. The selection is top notch for the Denver area (missing only 4 packs from a few select breweries, stocking only 22s--Nic is aware of this problem) The prices are the best Ive seen anywhere in the state and the service is awesome. The beer guys, Nic, Matt and James are 3 of the nicest, most helpful and knowledgealbe employees I've found. Also, the $7.99 mixed 6p pack deal is great. The beer is kept cold, the selection is great and the prices low. What more could I ask for, other than a closer location.

this was my first time in there recently and i stuck around for awhile. a very large volume of beer. on the warm shelves were every domestic and many local micros along with a nice long cooler.

three doors of make your own sixer for 7.99. the "bomb shelter" was very nice, it is a specialty shelf in their cooler with all the nice Belgians and other American and world novelties rarities and usuals, and still they had room for one cooler door of bombers.

Staff were abundant and knowledgeable also friendly. for six packs and "typical" bombers prices were very nice.

This all from the perspective of a handsaler,
very satisfied.

This is a big place. Lots of wine, liquor, beer and accessories (glasses and such). About 30 cooler doors of beer, plus a small walk-in "bomb shelter" with a nice array of bombers. Plus 3 aisles of warm beer selection with box sets, collectors stuff, etc.

Of course I first overlooked the bomb shelter. Apparently big red signs don't get my attention. After mixing a good singles-6pack I walked in to the shelter. Could spend lots o'money here, but I grabbed the Boulevard #1 Collaboration and ran out before set camp.
Service wasn't more than, "may I help you", but that's about I need anyway. I assume more help is there if I asked.

A bit hard to find in the maze of Park Meadows Mall, shopping center et al. Look for the Home Depot and Old Navy.

While the quality and selection may not be the best in the state, this store has by far the cheapest prices. Furthermore, they do a great job of getting a high quality beers in (i.e. Saison-Brett, Odell's Woodcut #2, Dark Horizon 2, etc.).

As you walk in, all the beers are lined up in coolers along the back wall. Great selection of Colorado brews along with much more. The bomber cooler is a little hard to find if you are not paying attention. It's a glass door located right in the middle of the coolers. Once you walk in, you will be amazed by the plethra of Belgians and other sought after beers.

The service is fantastic. That's all I can say.

Located only 15 minutes south of Denver and right off of I-25, this store is definitely worth a trip if you're in the area.

One of my favorite liquor stores, half cause I'm usually near the Park Meadows mall, but also cause of their good selection and really really helpful service.

They have a really good beer selection, and a walk in part where you can find a lot of Belgians. They don't have some of my favorite beers in the store, but the variety is better than most. They have the 'build your own 6-pack' section which is great to try a bunch of new things, but I bet most of the things that are in there, you've already had. It would be nice if they expanded that section to another bay... A ton of stuff in cases and one shelves in the non-refrigerated section. Don't miss that part as there is stuff out there that isn't in the fridge.

Their wine selection is one of the best around I think, as far as quality. Whoever their buyer is does a good job of not getting anything bad. You can be pretty sure that anything you pick up will be good. But if you need help, the people in that department, (especially if you get the ones that specialize in it) are surprisingly knowledgeable and experienced.

Their single malt scotch selection is pretty good, and there are a few people that work there that like scotch and are fun to talk to about it.

Their prices are really good and they have sales.

I happened to be in Lone Tree, so I swung by here to see what was up.

My first impression wasn't that great. There was a lot of cardboard piled up by the front door, the lighting was dim and the place looked pretty dingy. The overall look said warehouse to me.

The point of my going here; however, was for beer, not aesthetics. Lukas doesn't disappoint in that department.

Along the back wall is a row of coolers that are well stocked with a wide variety of imports and craft beers. Three doors are committed to singles for build-your-own six-packs. There is also an isle of boxes with even more stock; albeit at room temperature. Most of what I saw I'd seen other places, but I did spot a few items that were new to me.

It took me awhile to figure out where the bombers were hiding. After a bit of searching on my part (there weren't any staff members in the beer section to ask directions from), I found the door in the middle of the coolers marked "Bomb Shelter" that provides access to them. Because you're literally inside the beer cooler, be prepared to get chilled.

Prices were on par with other Denver stores. Some beers were less expensive than I expected, others more. Not much was on sale, unfortunately.

The staff when I was there was sparse, but friendly enough.

All in all, Lukas is a store I'll probably swing by next time I'm in the area, but I won't be making any special trips.

Great place to check out if you are around the Soth Denver Area. They offer a very nice selection of macro as well as craft beers from all over the country. Decent selection of international ales as well. They also have a few doors of singles at a make your own six pack price.

Their craft beer selection however is outstanding. A huge selection of fine bottles from all over the world. Not only do they have a very nice variety of beer, but it is also very well priced. Easily 10% below anywhere else in the area. For example, Fantome for $13 instead of $15 and Ten Fidy for $9 instead of $11.

Nick the beer buyer does a great job at getting most anything that is available to Colorado.

I visited the Lone Tree version of Lukas Liquors while attending GABF 08. I only had time to visit one liquor store while I was in town for GABF, and after a little research I decided to go with Lukas, and honestly it was a bit of a disappointment. I like Lukas quite a bit. We have 2 excellent Lukas Liquors in KC so I probably went in with a bit of a bias that I was hoping they would live up too. We went Friday night, so I had expected it to be a little picked over but wow, either their selection isn't great or they had been cleaned out. They had some Lost Abbey, Port and Allagash but those were the only breweries (besides some locals) that I couldn't get in MO. The service I took a bit of exception with. There were 3 or 4 employees standing together talking towards the front of the store and I walked up to them to ask about a couple of beers. The guy who responded seemed a little annoyed that I was asking a question and then proceeded to tell me that they have everything on the shelf and returned to talking to the other employees, leaving my other questions unanswered. The value seemed right on with the Lukas' in MO. While I think that my visit wasn't necessarily a good sample of what normally goes on, I think I will be making the trip of to Fort Collins to Wilbur's for my beer tripping needs while in CO.

These fellas have THE best selection in all of metro Denver. Really haved stepped up their beer "game" as of recent. Can always expect that brews are priced fairly and a wealth of knowledge from Nick and the rest of the beer staff. Great selection of 12oz singles (2 cooler doors). Make a point to walk into the cooler itself where you'll find rare beers of Belgium, UK as special releases from awesome breweries throughout the U.S.

Go check them out for all the goods from Colorado and beyond. Recently added: Moylands Hopsickle, Russian River Pliny, etc., etc.

Service was first rate, staff was very helpful

The Colorado & regional beer selection was very good, the Belgian & German inventory was pretty much above average. Loved the 3 coolers of build your own sixer beers.

Saw this store out the back of my hotel and had to check it out. Exceptionally large selection, with every Colorado beer I could think of. Lukas goes beyond numerous well-stocked coolers. They have several aisles of beer by the sixer or case. Of course, I was mainly interested in singles to take back east. I ended up bringing home 15 12 oz. and 4 bombers of local brews. (I'm sure the hotel desk clerk was thinking there would be a big party in my room that night!)

Fantastic selection of both singles and full six packs. You can't go wrong if you're looking for craft beer in the area.
