I tried a half pour of this beer off the tapper at the brewery with my wife and her old colleague whilst in the area for my daughter's WIAC conference finals gymnastics meet at Hamline University. It poured a clear golden with off white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had nice floral and citrus peel spice notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp malt base and potpourri of floral and earth profile. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer!

Date on the bottom of the bottle 2-9-18
This beer pours a nice shade of amber. The head was slightly off white, and 1 finger. The retention was average. The carbonation bubbles rising in the glass is pleasing to watch.
The nose is not very strong. It has a bit of malt on it. Slightly sweet. It also has a slight fruit aroma.
Taste - up front it is a bit mellow. I get some caramel sweetness. There's also a fruit flavor up front. On he backside it has a sharp, crisp flavor, from the hops used to make this beer. .
Decent full body. Carboantion on the palate.
Not a bad barleywine. Fun to drink. I should get a bottle to age, because I'd love to see if it ages well. I have a feeling it would.

A: Brilliant gold, with 1” creamy foam collar that dissipates down to nothing
S: spicy aroma with wine, apricot, malt, fruit.
T: Starts with malt, caramel, sherry, spice, fruit, a hint of clove to anise, cardamom, and a moderate bitter hop accent on the finish.
F: Big body, creamy smooth, medium low carbonation
O: It suggests wine but still has a beer essence.
