Those who have been to Myrtle Beach are aware of Liberty Brewing. This Tap Room carries all the liberty brews plus several more local beers they had 36 taps all but 5 better brews or at least as good as you can get with the crappy selection and 6% cap in SC. Plainly stated the best selection I have seen in the Myrtle Beach area. The Bar area is very nice the bar backs the outside with windows that lift up to let the air in and the Bartender serve the inside guests and the outside guest from the same spot. Inside they have 1 projection TV and 3 plasma TV's above the bar good for catching up on sporting events. Nice inside rustic timbers, in the ceiling brass or bronze like air ducts kind of rustic looking.

Food seems reasonable or in par with others at the beech where you might expect little price increases. Only had an Appetizer, the buffalo shrimp. It came served in a cone type glass almost like a pilsener glass but cone shaped with a side of blue cheese. Bottom of the glass filled with fries and some celery with the shrimp on top, smaller shrimp but peeled completely so you can eat the tail also. While the shrimp were smaller they were several and they were good. I showed up early around 11am they had college football on. The bartender seemed proud of the beer selection and was very friendly but only one other group there so he was free to chat and offer great service. The place is nice looking and has the best selection they probably can I would recommend hitting if your in the area. I will be back here next time we hit the beach.

This place had a large covered outdoor area, fairly large dining area, and decent sized bar with some tables as well. The decor reminds me of a chain restaurant/sport bar with a lot of wood, some beer signs, and quite a few TVs (all showing sports). It was not too crowded when I visited on a Sunday afternoon and there was decent typical radio play music at a reasonable volume.

Beers were reasonable well poured at a decent temperature and with a reasonable amount of head. Beers were mostly served in pint glasses (at least the ones I ordered and all others I saw poured). Not sure if there were any other glassware they use regularly.

Service was friendly and attentive as well as being knowledgeable about the beers from the SC breweries I had not tried previously. Also was happy to share opinions on other spots to check out in Myrtle Beach.

The place had a reasonably good selection, especially for Myrtle Beach with a fair amount of the taps dedicated to South Carolina breweries and a decent range of styles (IPA, Blonde, Sours, Lagers, and Stouts).

Beer selection was great, but unfortunately half the beers were unavailable. I hate that. Food is sub-par.

Hit this place just about every night while in Myrtle Beach for vacation.
( no car )

Great Selection and great prices.
House beers ( New South ) were $3 /$3.50 for 16/20 oz. less from 4 - 7 p.m.

Some great craft beers like New Belgium's Ranger IPA and Fat Tire,Stone Levitation, Sierra Nevada for $3.75 / $4.25
Arrogant Bastard and Grand Teton ESB for $4 / $4.50

Food was great with a good selection of Happy Hour items.

Service very good; they made a great effort to get my friend extra hot chicken wings- you need the right person in the kitchen

Well worth the effort to go here.

Located between MB and NMB.

Large open bar area and cavernous seating areas inside the restaurant. Large outdoor area as well.

Bar has lots of beer on tap, but the choices are less than inspiring. For MB though, the tap selection is pretty good. NS IPA on nitro was the best beer available and it was very nice.

Menu is pretty standard bar fare. Less inspiring than the Charleston or Greenville locations. The food is good and well presented.

Nice bar to catch a game. Good tv presence in the bar area, even in the outdoor seating.

Visited 9/18/09 at 5pm. Approximately 32 taps but less than 30 drafts available on this date. Tried the house IPA, Lager and White brewed locally. IPA was creamy(?) with little to no hoppiness or flavor at all. White tasted watered down according to my wife. Lager tasted like Miller Lite. Happy hour food menu was good but not great. 12" pizza's for $6. Service was OK but barely competent. Nice building with a "deck house" feel. Air conditioning diffusers around the perimeter where some tables are make it too cold to sit there. Nice alfresco patio but it is located next to business 17 in MB, one of the busiest roads in the US. Good crowd in the bar on a week nite. Liberty has many non house beers on tap but nothing that tripped my trigger. Big disappointment except for the cheap eats.

Easy to find this place as you head on 17 Southbound. Nice outdoor seating area is the first thing you notice, but it is a bit too hot for us so we head inside. The bar is a nice straight bar with plenty of stools. There is a dining area in the rear of the building.

Beerwise they had 4 Newsouth beers, 3 Liberty Brewhouse beers and Red Rocket on tap. Beer was fresh and tasty.

Bartender was prompt, but did not look for any beer knowledge from her. We did not try any food.

Defintely one of the better beer bars in Myrtle Beach, which the city overall is not a beer destination.

The place is set up with a large bar, and a decent size dining room, I like their style. Everything is wooden, the lights are nice and pub-dim. Even when busy, things are pretty laid back and quiet. This is a definite plus when you find yourself in the heart of the redneck riviera that is Myrtle Beach.
The overall quality of the offerings both beer and otherwise are rather high. The place is certainly no dive.
The service is very good as well, both at the bar and in the dining room. The staff seem pretty knowledgable when it comes to their taps, as well as their food.
Selection is not huge, but I like the local focus. In these times it just seems even more important to give the little guys a chance, especially considering the brewing talent coming out of SC, NC, and GA lately.
The food isn't bad, it just doesn't stand out. I have yet to be disappointed, but also have yet to be amazed.
The price is right, the food might be a little on the high side, but the specials on food and taps for happy hours is nice.

I just moved to the myrtle beach area and so far Liberty has the best selection of beers on tap. They had a good selection of microbrews on tap and they said they like to rotate them out frequently. They had the standard set of beers, along with some of their own brews, a few New South beers (which is a myrtle beach brewery), then they had some magic hat, terrapin, highland, thomas creek and then some other German and Irish varieties. The food was excellent and the prices weren't too bad either. The bartenders were awesome and were on top of things all night.

Knowing that the SC beer scene is in its infancy, I came here hoping to find some serious hops, or at least something interesting. Nice inside bar area and dining roon; also great outdoor patio out front, except if you're down wind of a smoker. Went twice last week with my wife; once after golf for a beer and snack, then for "dinner" and beer outside a couple of nights later.
They carry four or so brews of New South Brewing, made right over the waterway in Myrtle Beach. $10 pitchers is a great deal. Tried the New South White; nothing special, but a fair Witbier. ALso tired their Red Ale; bland and drinkable.
Had a sampler of the IPA, my fav style, and could tell I would be disappointed if I spent money on that one. It was bitter, but lacking the floral and citrus hop flavor I crave.
Considering the beer selection at most places in the area in only Macro, the selection here is much more extensive, despite them not having anything that many BA's would consider going out of their way for. Food was good for a pub, and service was better than average. Overall, a nice place to go after golf or the beach to pound some down.

I was certainly impressed with this taproom, especially since the beer scene at Myrtle Beach is severly lacking. The building is situated between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach along Business 17, the suburban strip. The building is obviously new and has a log cabin meets Applebees motif. We stopped in for beers only, so I expect the food to be similar to that of the Liberty Brewery -- quite good, but a bit on the costly (tourist-trap) side. However, the beer offerings were quite nice. The offered about 40 taps that varied from the 7 standard Liberty brews, New South brews, Terrapin, Chimay Red, Leffe Blonde, and quite a few others. The staff here was fair, and had only a passing understanding of the taps. A must-visit for any BA in the area.
