HaandBic is our first beer in the style of a fruit lambic with added red currents and cranberries. We have naturally also added a lambic style yeast blend including bacteria and yeast of different types. Then this concoction has been aged in oak barrels for almost 18 months. The beer gets its tartness from both berries and the concoction we added. It will mostcertainly develop further given time.

Fermented with several different yeasts and bacteria. Serving temp 8 - 10C or 46 - 50F.

No offense to first reviewer, but I think you might have had a tuckered ticker.
Pours a hazy reddish orange with large bubbles exclusively from the pour. This is essentially still. The nose is at first off-putting, being dominated by old, dusty wood, and moldy somewhat rotten fruit. The taste is equally shocking at first. Cranberry tart and sour with a slight metallic taste. I can understand why some think this is medicinal, but it is actually the red currants and the various strains of yeast which lend to the "old barn" flavor. Did not seem syrupy or watery at all. There is some vinegar notes present and a dried berry finish. I found the mouthfeel somewhat spicy and tinged with juniper-like qualities. Lots of tannic-bite from aging over 18 months. What can I say other than I kind of liked it in a numbing way.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.5%. Brewed with redcurrants and "tyttebær"/lingonberrries (a kind of wild forest/mountain cranberries) and lambic style yeast. Aged in oak barrels for 18 months. Orange colour, moderate to low off-white head. Strong aroma of tyttebær juice, farmhouse / horseblanket and vinegar. Moderate carbonation. The flavour is sour and lambic-like, but not extreme. The berries come through nicely, funky and oaky notes, not much sweetness. Alcohol is noticeable, but not in a bad way. Refreshing and interesting beer.

Had this June 27, 2015.
Poured an appearance and color that had more in common with a flanders red than most lambics. Was pretty ruddy and didn't retain much headspace. Gotta say the appearance was the least impressive aspect of on otherwise good beer. Aroma leans in on the cranberry and red wine like notes. Hint of oak beyond that.
Taste was good, still going in that red wine and flanders red like direction, a hit of acetic acid to further the comparison. Cranberry and currant offer a relatively sharp bitterness in the mouth feel that betrays the commercial tug job rep for 16 ibu or whatever it was. Sourness is maybe a 4 on the 10pt scale. Undercarbonated slightly. Hint of oak smoke to it. I dunno, this was like the little brother of their superior flanders. At double digit dollars, this comes close to being $1/per ounce and it just isn't good enough to justify that price tag. Not a fan of cranberry or currant in beer generally, so the overall result of this review isn't much of a shock.

Very earthy. Sort of a Flanders type thing. Not digging it much.

A-Pours an opaque, dull copper color. Nearly no head. A very lazy initial bubble up, then nothing.
S-Aroma is well integrated and pleasantly tart. Fruitiness and semi-sour berry notes. Very lightly oaky.
T-You can tell it had some age in it. All the flavors have meshed together. A tart fruitiness dominates the flavor. Cranberries and currants added bring forth a lot of genuine sour berry flavors. Hints of oak. Finishes sweet.
M-Flatter. Has some body to it. No noticeable booze.
O/D-I think the age really did this brew some favors. Well integrated flavors. Tasty tartness. Underrated.
