Nice muted berry smell and taste. Getting mostly blueberry and currant. Kind of bitter. Brett funk earthiness. Not too sweet. This is no New Glarus fruit beer. It's ok.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 20). Bottle 50 cl - Batch 562. AROMA: pleasant fruit blend aroma and not artificial. no hop aromas and no deffects. APPEARANCE: light reddish color with a bit of an orange tint, with a lot of material in suspension. light pink head with good retention. TASTE: medium-low intensity flavour somewhat reflecting the aroma but it is not artificial. some bitterness is present and finishes dry with a bit of astringency. PALATE: light body maybe due to the fruit fermentables, medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: this fruit beer is made with fruits not available in our country so the aromas and flavours are a bit of an unknown. neverthless, it does not have an artificial profile nor defects. overall, a different fruit beer.

Bottle from West Lakeview Liquors. Served in a Zwanze '13 glass.
A - White foam settles to a thin cap, thick collar, and splotches of lace. Hazy pink-orange body that's quite attractive.
S - Lots of cherry and currant, with some berry skins and perhaps a bit of lactic acidity creeping in. Malty, and slightly medicinal.
T - The taste has a bit more base beer, with some lightly sugary and fruity malts. Berry acidity in the finish, with a weird astringent bitterness possibly from the sea buckthorn or crowberries. Sweet, but balanced by the acidity; not wild at all. Cherry seems lost here amid the other stuff, although a bit shows up in the aftertaste.
M - Medium body, tannic and a tad gritty, pleasant carbonation, and no alcohol.
D - Not exactly what I was expecting or desiring; I would have preferred more over-the-top fruit flavor, or some sourness. Easy enough to drink, but probably won't buy this one again.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.
Pours a murky reddish-brown with a foamy reddish-tan head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with malt and fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer with a decent smell but the fruit quality in the flavor is odd.
