22 oz bomber poured into a tulip glass. Born on March 20th, 2014.

A - A hazy, translucent gold with yellow highlights. Would probably look interesting under a black light.

S - Banana, clove, grape juice

T - More of the same. Some yeast and mlild sugar notes.

M - carbonation is on the high side. Dry finish, very wine like.

O - This one grows on you. Non grape fans may not come around, and the dry finish may need a suitable food compliment. Recommended to try.

Pours more of a lemon yellow color with a half finger bone white head that leaves a ring of lace as it settles pretty quickly. Some lemon pith and chalk stand out in the nose with some sweetish white grape detected.A little sharp perhaps in the mouth for a bigger beer, just a little prickly and on the lighter side.Grainy and slightly medicinal on the palate with that grape juice playing a role in the finish giving some richness and mild sweetness, some phenols are present but not over the top.A decent beer but the feel is not the greatest and the flavors are mid-range for the style.

L: Hazy straw gold, 1” sudsy white foam cap.
S: grapey, fruity, some Belgian yeast
T: smooth, white wine, light caramel, Belgian yeast, pineapple with some definite citrus notes, orange to lemon without the acid or rind flavors.
F: medium high carbonation, medium body, very fine soft carbonation
O: This is a summer beer well worth repeating.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a Duvel tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours a bright and fairly hazy yellowish golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. One finger of white head that slowly fades into a thin patchy layer. Leaves a decent amount of lacing.

Smell: A yeasty and fruity Belgian style aroma with good hints of grape juice and spice. Upfront scent of Belgian yeast with hints of clove, funk, coriander, and white pepper. Big presence of fruit esters with big hints of white grapes giving a white wine like aroma. Other fruit hints include banana, pear, orange, lemon, and slight apple. Subtle hints of noble hops. Solid scent of malt with hints of straw, cracker, and biscuit. A pretty nice aroma.

Taste: Like the aroma, a fruity and fairly spicy Belgian yeast driven taste with good notes of grape and other fruit. Upfront taste of Belgian yeast along with notes of clove, funk, white pepper, and coriander spicing. Big taste of musty white grape juice giving a wine like taste. Also good fruit notes of banana, orange, lemon, pear, and apple. Some bubblegum notes as well. Notes of noble hops. Pale malt with notes of straw, grains, cracker, and biscuit. A pretty solid Belgian style taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a fairly high level of carbonation. Juicy but pretty drying. Booze heat is pretty tame.

Overall: A pretty solid twist on a Strong Belgian Pale Ale. Good yeasty and spicy notes with a big kick from the added grape juice.

Draft pour at Duckworth's, Huntersville North Cackalacky.

Pours much lighter than I expected, looks like a pils in the glass, with minimal snow-white head and lacing. The nose is underwhelming, bit soapy and bready and the taste is similar. The alcohol is very well hidden and the beer is quite drinkable. I'm baffled why this brew would serve as their 20th Anniversary offering.

22 oz bottle; bottled in March 2014; served in a Belgian snifter.

Poured pale golden with alight haze and small head. The aroma is fruity and has the unmistakable character of Belgian yeast. Some light funk and heavy yeast reduce its attraction but this aspect does not carry over to the flavor. Complex with very good balance and a mix of tropical and other fruity flavors, including white grapes and faint banana. Neither bitter nor sweet, with light spiciness.

O: this is a quite enjoyable Belgian style ale worth seeking out.

This ale is pale gold, almost white gold, bright though extremely hazy. The white head is small but shows resilience, though it eventually fades to a ring. Better than decent spotting is left behind as it goes.
The aroma is spicy and earthy with lots of tart and zesty lemon balanced but sweeter elements of clove and green grape, even as a hint of dryness comes in with the latter.
Clove and bubblegum are more prominent in the taste, which is less sweet overall but more bright, spicy and lightly tart. A very light leafy hops bitterness comes through that offers a touch of herb as well, complementing the generally earthy character.
A good bite of crispness on the palate gets softer but doesn't drop. It's fluffy, and the carbonation keeps up. It's not exactly smooth but not bad. The body feels like it straddles the border between light and medium.

Bomber with bottled on date of 4/3/2014.

Served chilled into a goblet, Great Divide's 20th Anniversary ale is a pale hazy yellow color with thick white head. It has good retention and leaves some spotty lacing behind.

Aroma is similar to some of their other Belgian ales like Colette. It has some fruity hops and some spice from the yeast.

Flavor is similar to those others as well. Probably due to the yeast strain. Floral, fruity, and spice notes all one through over a pale pilsner malt back bone. The white grape juice doesn't seem to add a lot, from what I can tell.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and heavily carbonated.

Overall a solid beer but too similar to their year round saison and tripel. I expected more from a major milestone celebration. Oh well, they still make excellent beers so I shouldn't complain. Here's to another 20 years.

Bottled Mar 20 2014...

Pours a very effervescent & chill-hazed gold with a thumb of pearl colored head. Pretty nice lacing & head retention

S: Green apple peels, grassiness & a whisper of barnyard

T: Pears, a little mango, juicy-fruit, dryness & a touch of funkiness & white grape up front. Boozey pears as this warms, a little bit of green melon & golden delicious apple & other over-ripe orchard fruits & pineapple. Finishes with a nice pineapple flourish, white grapes & dryness & pears., plus green bananas

MF: Light bodied, delicate carbonation, nice balance

Drinks very easy for the ABV & style. Not really Great Divide's strength doing Belgian styled offerings, but this one pleased me
