Titan IPA is a big, aggressively hopped India Pale Ale brewed for hop disciples. It starts out with piney hop aromas and citrus hop flavors, and finishes with a nice rich, malty sweetness that is balanced with crisp hop bitterness.

bought and drank in cambridge, ma, October '09. bottles says it was bottled on Aug 07 2009.

pours a just-slightly-less-than-clear peachy amber, with decent dull white head. head dies a bit overly quickly, but lace is excellent, and very sticky.

smell, as opposed to the appearance, is less than spectacular. sweet kinda sticky peachy-caramel malts man the show, with a dull earthy-citrus hop muted in the background.

taste as well is good, but not great. i feel the malt characteristics are over much for an ipa, a bit too sweet and cloying. the sweet reminds me of approaching a barleywine type taste, but this doesn't have the rest of the complexity and darker malts to back it up. hop flavor is good - quite a bit of 'green' type hop flavors, with a decent citrus (grapefruit and bitter orange peel type) middle. good overall, but not my favorite by any means. a little alcohol presence noted.

nice and thick though, really great body.

overly cloying to be superbly drinkable for my palate. good, but overall glad i bought a bottle and not a sixer.

Had on tap at boondocks fun center Thornton

On arrival there is a very light haze in a deep gold body dome lacing forms.

Aroma is more of an old school WCIPA, with a touch of dank edd, and an almost toasty malt in the very back. Not as intense as expected. Slight bitter herbal hops that are almost but not quite piney.

Taste follows the aroma with a decent bitterness right up front, that carries an herbal, dank, flavor that fades slightly to a mellow pine resin, and toasted malt. Super clean and crisp.

The feel is super smooth, due to a dryness taming the full malty body. Finish is longer and is very balanced with a slight warming sensation. Very good 7%+ IPA in this category.

Overall this is pretty good. Nothing crazy out of the ordinary, but a solid WC style IPA with a reasonably unique hop profile.

11/20/22 12oz can from Washington Beer store. Chilly Sunday afternoon before the Steelers/Browns game.

Look is a cloudy gold in Leah's glass, but clear in mine? Same can.

Aroma is tropical pineapple and mango. Slight maltiness.

Decent carbonation. Sweet breadiness, bordering on banana bread. Slight sour undertones. Nice mouthfeel. Hop is present through the whole experience.

Not overly powerful. Brewer's notes describe this well.

Poured a slightly hazy light orange amber color with a two finger white head that dissipated slowly leaving heavy lacing. I suspect that the haziness is from being a few months past the can date.

Fruity nose with pineapple and citrus.

Malty flavor balanced with citrus and a piney finish.

Medium body and carbonation.

Overall, an enjoyable AIPA.
