look: 3.25 | smell: 2.75 | taste: 2.75 | feel: 2.75 | overall: 2.75

Appearance drops in an amberish color, 1/4" white head. Aroma lacked any dry hopping.

Taste was obscured by an excessive amount of carbonation. Still lacking hop character, can't tell if this is old or not from the lack of bottle dating I can discern. So much brown malt and old oxidized cardboard and woody notes. Man GD makes some good stuff but this bottle didn't do the trick.

L: Copper gold with a creamy white head and quite a bit of lacing.

S: Earthy pine hops and malt. A slight not so f onion. Not very much fruit. Some cereal malt.

T: Lots of pine, and sap balanced out by a sweet cereal malt. Medium bitterness.

F: Medium body and creamy carbonation.

O: A solid IPA, this is one of Denver's classic IPAs.

Poured from the bottle. Nice creamy white head that holds well. Aroma is very malty with slight citrus and pine. Surprised to smell more malt than hops in this beer. Taste is very malty sweet with caramel that is well balanced in the finish, with a hint of grapefruit. Body is medium to full for the style, with creamy mouthfeel. Overall, this is one of the better IPAs I’ve had. Maltier than most but well balanced

Had this one at 12,000 feet elevation in Aspen. Nice caramel color, aroma I could not tell as much as I was outside, great taste, I like the hoppy aftertaste of this beer. Nice. Now let me get back to listening to the Bluegrass music.

Poured from a can...
Look: Clear medium amber; head recedes fairly quickly after pour
Smell: Fresh, pleasant, without a particular dominant aroma
Taste: Very nicely balanced malt and hop, neither one dominates, but both combine for sublime good taste
Feel: Substantial, chewy, without being excessive
Overall: This might just be my new "go-to" favorite, for a balanced malt/IPA brew. Very drinkable.

Draft at Westrail Tap & Grill. Amber pour with small foamy head. Hops on first sniff, follows through to taste. Crisp and bitter, but still allows solid malt bill to make itself known.

L: Great copper color, light haze. Healthy head.
S: Not too much smell, some orange citrus.
T: Very light on the plate actually, considerable malt character compared to generic IPAs. Interesting non generic hops. Not hop forward at all for an IPA, slight sweetness, like some grapefruit. Not bitter.
F: Low carbonation, medium body. A bit dry.

Nice non-bitter IPA, a bit too light on the taste, almost like waterIPA, good value for generic beer price. Ultra drinkable IPA

L- Pours a deep amber/golden color. It flops from amber to gold through the light. Very interesting color. Thin head that hugs the side of the glass after a few minutes.
S- Sweet almost caramelized piney aroma with a quick boozy bunch at the end. I also get earthy grassy notes with the smell.
T- Sweet but bitter nonetheless. Slight citrus, sweet and hoppy.
F- Medium bodied, carbonation is good and holds the with the beers taste and nose.
O- This was a great beer and I can see why so many people love it. With that being said, this isn't my favorite IPA, but it is enjoyable to drink. This beers aroma and flavor gives it a certain quirkiness that makes it memorable. I would seek this one out and give it a try.

Appearance: Pours a deep dark gold color.

Overall: The aroma is made up of malts and strong hops with a little sweet chocolate mixed in. The flavor contains a bold hop and a small amount of citrus. The bitter hop is balanced perfectly with a malty sweet finish. One of best IPA's I have ever had. Great Job Great Divide!!

Pours a golden orange color with a good sized white fluffy head, fades at a decent rate with a good amount of lacing on the glass.

Smell has a good amount of hops, mostly piney with a slight citrus presence.

Taste has a larger lemony citrus presence than pine but still very hop forward, decent sweet malt backbone provides balance, good amount of carbonation with a soft touch, finishes semi-dry.

12 oz. bottle poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

A- Bronze, and great clarity. Head is rocky and off-white. Great lacing. Good retention.

S- Stone fruit. Some citrus, and a bready backbone.

T- Bitey citrus, a little stone fruit. And some bread.

M- Body is medium. Bitterness is pretty high.

O- A little too much bitterness in this one. Takes away from the flavors.

Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass bottled on 3/29/16. Pours a beautiful reddish orange, with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves behind webs and rings of lace.

Smell is apricot, earthy hops, bready, lemon rind, pine, and grapefruit.

Taste follows apricot, biscuit, lemon, pine, and a nice shot of grapefruit, much better than the nose.

Mouthfeel is medium, plenty of life, a little dry, and excellent drinkability.

Overall I wasn't blown away with the nose, but mouthfeel, taste, and look are all stellar.

A: Pours a copper color with 2 fingers of head that slowly fades down to a nice cap that leaves some good lacing

S: A good dose of floral and fruity hops with a solid malt base that throws out some light caramel sweetness

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with a bit of floral, earthy, and fruity hops with a mix of the caramel maltiness. Goes into some moderate bitterness and more floral notes before finishing with lingering bitterness and a hoppy overtone

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A solid and well-balanced IPA. Great drinkability at a touch over 7%. Definitely one to check out if you like balanced IPAs that lean toward the bitter side

Pours a hazy, frosty gold amber. Great look, with a foamy white head sitting on top and lace dancing around the glass as you sip. Citrus, and tropical hops and honey notes hang out at the front of the nose, with subtle piney and resin hop notes playing in the background. Citrus and tropical hops and honey form a great balanced IPA taste profile that does lean a little on the bitter side. It really performs well. Mouth feel is mouth coating, with a good consistency. It lacks any carbonation burn (which I feel I'm a little sensitive to) which makes it a pleasure to drink. Overall, a really great IPA. It feels easy to drink, and tastes great in the process. Extremely well done.

Served in a 12oz snifter.

Appearance - gold in color. Smell - fruity and hoppy. Combined with the mountain air and The View House is amazing. Great. Taste - follows the nose. Smooth on the back end yet a slight hop bite. Overall - would get again and I'm glad I had it in CO.

Great looking pour from the can. Amber, hazy body, bright white head, lots of lacing. Smell is hot, sweet, fruit. Taste is bitterness out front which prepared my taste buds for a typical ipa, hop blast... that never came. The initial bitter faded quickly into almost nothing. A little malty sweetness, but pretty mild. Very drying, and that feel build on the tongue. Slight bitter comes back in an aftertaste, which is not unpleasant, but starts to overpower towards the end of the glass.

Not the sweetest ipa, or the most bitter, or complex. Overall ok. if you want a mild ipa with Higher abv, this might be for you, if you're good with the drying aftertaste.

35cl bottle. Pours a clear caramel/amber with a bit of a head that disappears quite quickly. Smells malty, of caramel, citrus and a hint of pineapple. Sweet and moderately hoppy, with a much stronger malty component and a heavier body than other american IPAs.

inch plus of khaki head, copper body
very faint candied orange, sweet pine resin. not much smell though
juicy citrus: honeydew, tangerine. some pine. satisfying sweetness at the finish--caramel and biscuit. as it sits becomes a little watery and metally
medium grainy feel, a little syrupy. this whole variety pack has been a little undercarbonated so I'm assuming it was banged around during transport or something
I usually prefer more hop and less sweetness in an IPA, but I this is alright.

It's too much. Dial it back, Great Divide, and you'd have a highly interesting, inspiring even, offbeat funky brew. It's just wierd as it is. Not the good kind of wierd.

Really nice IPA. It's a bit hoppy and bitter, but the mouthfeel is really nice. The nose is great, but I didn't get a lot of the the dank fruitiness that I wanted.

Awesome IPA. More balanced than any IPA I've ever had. The hops is still right out front, but they don't punch you right in the nuts. Very drinkable. Will definitely seek out again.

Big, in-your-face hoppy aroma and solid bitter finish. Rating it 4.00 overall because of how sweet it tastes midway through and how bitter it finishes. A little jarring but all-around solid beer.

This is one of the better examples of an IPA that has a pine forward hop profile. It is pretty much dominated by spicy, earthy pine with just a hint of sweet citrus, all of which is well balanced on some nice toasted malt. Ends on the drier side, which I prefer, especially in IPA's. I love almost everything GD does and I am stoked this now comes in cans!

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/24/2015. Pours fairly crystal clear orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of tangerine, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big tangerine, apricot, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Large amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, apricot, pineapple, lemon/orange rind, pine, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate building dryness from bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, and fairly creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
