Notes / Commercial Description:
An onslaught of the senses. It starts with big, roasty malt flavor that gives way to rich caramel and toffee notes. YETI gets its bold hop character from an enormous quantity of American hops.

Presentation: 355 ml (12 oz) brown bottle with info about the beer on the side of the label as well as the bottled date and suggested food pairings. Oh and can't forget the YETI on the label!

Look: Has a deep black color with an espresso hued head.

Aroma: Malty with a toasted caramel vanilla like aroma, very fragrant with undertones of toasted toffee and chocolate.

Taste: Full bodied with a smooth mouth feel and a creamy thick finish. Malt flavor is dominant though and the surprisingly sweet and spicy alcohol bodes well despite it's presence. Malt sweetness lingers with a big caramel and coco flavor. When taking a drink it feels very heavy on the lips and tongue(In a good way) and finishes extraordinarily smoothly.

Poured from a bottle into a Spiegelau stout glass.

A: Wonderful black with a rich brown-gold head. Nice lacing, very consistent liquid, thick and heavy. Gorgeous, wonderful, dark beer.

S: Thick, heavy massive malt body with huge coffee, chocolate and cinnamon on top.

T: Big roasted malt body, significant hop bite. Crisp coffee-like bitterness rises to the top after swallowing. A nice chocolate flavor on the aftertaste. Lots of deep earthy tones and spices. Very consistent, well bodied beer with a nice variety of flavors, but not complicated. Simple, but very good. Not very sweet.

M: Super smooth, some slight carbonation but a nice silky texture to the beer itself.

O: This is a very good example of an Imperial stout that makes no false claims. It's big, bold and huge on the roasted malt character. There is just enough bitterness and alcohol to clean up the malty body. It has notes of coffee and chocolate and is very well balanced, but lacks significant amounts of specialized textures and flavors that you might find in another imperial stout. It's very good, easy to drink and is consistent with its flavors throughout its temperature range. Solid A.
