First time trying this DIPA. Relatively fresh-9/10.

The beer poured 1/2F head with a golden-copper color in a Stone snifter.
The glass is new, and I am beginning to drink more beers in it. , including DIPAs.
It enhances the taste/ aroma slightly different than a tulip glass- not sure of the comparative details yet.

The aroma is heavy grapefruit, and slight vanilla.

Nice moderate mouth feel suits the beer by not overwhelming the taste.

The taste/finish: very hoppy, refreshing grapefruit, some vanilla. The taste stands out as having a distinct character and is different than the San Diego style DIPAs.

It was also impressive that the taste lingers- not always the case in this style.
I paired the beer with lamb and a vinagrette salad which deepens the taste.

Overall, an excellent DIPA. Another impressive beer from Great Divide.

22 oz bottle, dated Jun 05 2013

hazy orange rusty color. frothy off-white head, good lacing and head retention. earthy and piney hop aroma. taste has some good caramel malt body to support the big hoppy flavors. mouthfeel is a bit slick on the tongue, medium carbonation. works well. couldn't tell this was 10% abv at all. dangerous, and tasty.
