my favorite of all the variations although I haven't had one that I didn't like. RIS very prevalent and balanced well with the oak flavor. Heavy great for a cold day

Poured into Pint Glass.

Pours a beautiful black coffee color with a dark brown 2 finger head. Head is fluffy and leaves a very thin layer once it goes down that produces lacing.

There is a lot of coffee and chocolate in the nose. There are hints of vanilla, cloves, roasted malts as well.

The first sip gives way to a strong coffee and taste from the barrels. Some vanilla and what tastes like a fine whiskey. Letting it warm up a bit to perfect temp gives a deeper flavor profile. You get sweetness and roasted flavors from the malts and some of the hoppiness that lingers. Lot of dark chocolate in this as well. The alcohol becomes more prominent as it warms up.

Very smooth and not heavy for a stout. More of a creamy feel and finishes clean.

Perfect drinking for winter afternoons and evenings. Balanced well as it isn't too sweet and not super bitter. If you're tired of breakfast stouts or those trying to taste like adult chocolate shakes give this a try!

The appearance was a nice dark brown close to black color with a super nice looking off white/tan foamy half fingered head that dissipates to a slight film coating the top of the glass. The tan lacing sticks finely to the sides of the glass in great strength. The smell was a wonderful combination of woody oak, light chocolate, light vanilla and just a tad of booziness (wow, and this was a 2011 bottle). The taste was sweet and hot (from the booziness) with a nice allocation of woody chocolate. I didn’t get any aftertaste in today’s beer and can’t seem to find my notes from 2012 to compare, but anyways. There is a super nice long boozy chocolate finish (now that’s what I call inviting). On the palate, she sits about a medium in body with a super nice sipping aspect to it. The carbonation seems to have died a bit due to its age. Overall, an absolutely wonderful variant of Yeti.
