Notes: Our beloved Yeti is going back to its roots with this Himalayan-inspired variation. Traditional Chai spices of cinnamon, green cardamom, black pepper, ginger, nutmeg, and vanilla blend seamlessly with Yeti’s rich, roasted malt backbone for a spicy beast fit to tackle Everest.

Black in color with a fingernail of creamy dark brown on top. Moderate lacing. The aroma is of chai spices and dark chocolate. I'm tasting a moderate chai spice presence that blends well with the rich, dark chocolate flavor. The mouth is silky smooth, creamy, and decadent.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 9/27/2017. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky dark tan head with insane retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts the whole glass. Thick soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Insane appearance. Aromas of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, vanilla, toffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamon, peppercorn, ginger, clove, biscuit, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, raisin, licorice, cherry, date, herbal, wood, and roast/toasted earthiness. Incredible aromas with fantastic complexity and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, spices, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, vanilla, toffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamon, peppercorn, ginger, clove, biscuit, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, raisin, licorice, cherry, date, herbal, wood, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light roast/char and herbal hop/spice bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, vanilla, toffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamon, peppercorn, ginger, clove, biscuit, toasted dark bread, light smoke/char, dark fruits, herbal, wood, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, spices, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with an amazing hop/roast bitter/sweet and spice balance; with zero acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from hop/char bitterness and spice. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is insane. Light hop/spice stickiness and chalky roast. Minimal warming alcohol for 9.5%. Overall this is a mind blowing spiced imperial stout! All around amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, spices, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Just as impressive as a well aged standard Yeti. Usually the hops are strong when fresh, but not here. The spice balance is perfectly complementing to the base RIS profile, and never overwhelming. Really blew me away, one of the best non-barreled imperial stouts I've ever had.

Poured into shifter at room temp after year of aging:

L: dark chocolatey fudge
A: lots of spice, nutmeg in particular, tobacco, baking chocolate, roasted malts
T: very much like it smells along with vanilla, cacao, cinnamon, peppers, coffee, light tobacco dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with nutmeg, ginger, dark fruits, very good
F: thin but chewy and creamy
o: I got this for $5 as it had aged one year but this thing ages well and now would like another. It's a good Christmas beer and could only imagine it gets better Christmas morning watching the snow fall sitting by the fireplace. Also very much reminds me of Bells Expedition Stout heavily spiced.

From a bomber this version of Yeti delivers a handful of spices. I get mostly cardamon, ginger and nutmeg.
The mouthfeel is velvety. The roastiness is nice

22 ounce bottle, bottled SEP 26 2017. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with an inch and a half tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. I like the aroma, the brew smells like chai spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, peppery spice, cardamom) along with vanilla, roasted malt, and bittersweet chocolate. Taste is similar to the aroma, with chai spice, vanilla, coffee, roasted malt and bittersweet chocolate flavors. Slight bitter finish. The chai is very noticeable but not overpowering in both the aroma and flavor. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's creamy and coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this, wouldn't have minded if the chai was stronger but no big deal because it's still good and tasty. Maybe I should try this fresher next time. $11.99 a bomber.

Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of dark chocolate, roasted malt and chai spices. Great roasty flavor with chocolate and mild chai.

Huge goofy creamy darker head fades slowly, good retention and lacing, pitch black beer long legs

Nose typical base yeti, lots of dark chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, a little chai spice, mild roast, so much fudge

Taste more yeti, tons of cocoa and dark chocolate again, roasted malts and a little coffee, good bitterness from spicy hops and roast, very light chai almost nothing, nice bitterness and roast lingering, fudge, creamy oatmeal

Mouth is full bod, rich little creamy, decent carb, no alcohol

Overall great base yeti but no chai, thankfully it's not over chai but I'd at least like some

On tap at George Street Ale House in New Brunswick. Pours a jet black ebony hue with moderate frothing. Assertive aroma replete with hints of chocolate and mocha. Similar overall flavor profile.
