Chocolate Cherry YetiChocolate Cherry Yeti
Notes: Chocolate Cherry Yeti is the newest version in our revered Yeti Series. We’ve tweaked the hop bitterness for this special release and then added sweet and sour cherries and cacao. The roasty malt backbone of Yeti melds perfectly with the cherries and cacao to make this one smooth sipper. A Yeti in a cherry orchard can be a great thing

Pours a dark black with a deep cinnamon head. Good retention and lacing.
Nose is rich, dark chocolate. A touch of tart cherry, roasted malt. Coffee
Taste follows. Upfront is a big wave of roasted malt and chocolate. Followed by subtle sweet and tart cherries. Finishes with a fudgy chocolate covered cherries
Smooth creamy body.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 2/6/19, had 4/12/19.

Pours an opaque dark brown, with a one and a half inch foamy head with very good retention and some foamy lacing. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, caramel, some molasses, light smoke and licorice, faint cherries. The flavor is more directed to the chocolate, then roasted malt, vanilla, smoke, light molasses, faint cherries. Has a light hop bitterness. Smooth, fairly creamy, a good fuller body, well carbonated.

The chocolate comes through really well. The cherries, not so much. Good, but not as good as some of the other variants. Enjoyable. Worth a try, but don’t think you’ll have a cherry festival.

Pours an effervescent ebony with 2 fingers of fluffy mocha colored head. Good lacing and below average head retention

S: Roasty, a little vanilla and coffee

T: Follows the nose, a little cherry and leafy hops up front with much dryness ( woody & roasty ). Much roastyness and dryness, some dark cherry and woodyness. Finishes dry, roasty with leafy hops and maybe just a little vanilla & cherry

MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation, warming

I expected more, Yetis usually please/wow me. This is pretty good, just not in a league with most of the other itterations

Served in a Teku glass from a 19oz can.

Appearance: semi thick body coming off with extra bubbles and a dark tan head which initially rose one and half finger's length off the body.

Smell: Heavy malty Choctaw aroma which lingers on to the nostrils.

Taste: Bitter chocolate with hints of coffee bean and a mild touch of cherries. Chocolate is quite overpowering. Slight brown sugar feel right at the end just sticks with you as you finish every little sip.

Mouth: Medium to full carbonation. Sticky body, slight sweet finish. Tart feel at the end.

Overall: Good brew, little twist to the original which I would not have changed but everyone is chasing a carrot these days. Salud!

L:. Pours a thick oily black with a small brown tan head and no lacing.

S:. Fresh brewed coffee, earthiness, roasted malt, a mineral note and a touch of cherry. I don't get the strong chocolate, I usually get from the Yeti series.

T:. Sweet cherry, roasted malt, earthiness, a mineral note, some chocolate, little bit of chocolate but not as much as I expect from Yeti.

F:. Slick thick big body.

O:. Solid stout but doesn't quite live up to the Yeti name

One of the first series I fell in love with, the yetis. This one is typically robust, with the cherry taking on more of a dry skin flavor. This fits in naturally with the bitter chocolate, molasses, roasted malt, leather, smoke, black pepper, earthiness, chicory, and licorice. Smell has the cherry as more tart but overall more muddled than taste. Feel is chewy, dry, robust, and medium weight. This would hit the spot on a cool autumn night

This was a very good beer, but a notch below what I hoped for to be honest. The description sounded right up my alley, but the beer really didn't have much of a cherry presence at all. I got plenty of the chocolate flavor, which was certainly heightened from the normal Yeti base, but I jut didn't get a smell or taste of the cherry beyond a very faint hint. Color is great, mouthfeel is great, no hop bitterness at the end, but just a hair short of expectation. Maybe barrel-age some of this and see what happens next year?

Form the 22 oz bomber in a snifter. This nice imperial pours a
coal black with a nice head of dark tan foam that settles to a
thick ring, thin clumping pool, and displays some nice lacing.
Nose of char, mild coffee notes, dark cocoa, and moderate
cherry notes. Flavors lightly exceed the nose with dark cocoa
and mild coffee with a hint of cream and mildly tart cherry notes
with a balanced herbal hop note on the rear with heavy char
flavors on the back. Nice mouth feel; full body, medium light
carbonation that is lifting and lightly prickly, with a rich char
heavy finish that is lightly dry.

Overall, a nice twist on an old favorite....not my favorite of
the incarnations, but it is still very solid.

22 oz can

Pours opaque black, tan head is thick and dissipates slowly to lacing.

Aroma of cocoa and tart cherry.

Flavor is cocoa, roasted coffee bean, toast, mesquite, walnut, and some light fresh cherry.

Full body, tingly carbonation on the tongue.

Good taste, drinks pretty easy, no flaws. I could do with a more viscous body or a bit more of the cherry taste, but these are mild quibbles. Solid stout, not too rich or cloying. Worth trying.

Appearance: Black glass, dark tan halo of foam, leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. A slightly more ruby edge goes a bit red.

Aroma: Cherry grape skin tannin, light roasted grain, mild citric hop note.

Taste: Cherry juice, Yeti, and a fairly harsh metallic edge as it dries out in the finish. Of the 3, the Yeti is the most subtle of the flavors, it's somewhat overwhelmed with the amount of cherry flavor. There is a little chocolate bitter in the finish, which may be contributing to the metallic flavor.

Mouthfeel: Heavy body, low to almost still carbonation, oily texture, drying hot finish.

Overall: A little disappointed. Love Yeti. Love Cherries. Who doesn't love chocolate/cacao? I get that you would need a lot of cherries to show up in a Yeti, but I think they ended up a little overdone. The metallic note that randomly shows up is also a disappointment.
Kudos for swinging for the fences, this looks great on paper and I hope they try again, but re-calibrate.
