22oz bomber poured into a snifter. First glance shows a very nice brownish tinted black color and thick khaki colored head that stays till the end; even though reduced only to a layer of carbonation bubbles by that point. Roast, maybe some ash, and of course the coffee dominate the nose. The espresso coffee is extremely upfront and noticeable on the taste buds mixing with roast and smokey ash as it finishes. Smooth, slick mouthfeel and quite easy to drink is what this brew has to offer. In the end, as a chocolate stout lover, I found the coffee too strong for my liking but I still really enjoyed indulging in this stout. So glad I found and had the chance to try it!

A - Black-brown opaque, with a mid-tan head that forms up nicely, then fades to a thin line around the edge, lacing up. A nice cascade effect added an echo of the classic stout pour.

S - The oak and alcohol mostly come through in the nose, with a more subtle coffee core. Roasted malts and grains also present. But the alcohol muddies the nose, making elements hard to pick out.

T - Coffee comes out big at the start, with a touch of chocolate nib, oak and roast in the middle, mingling with alcohol as the beer warms, closing out with a return of the coffee and a subtle hop bitterness, paired to a strong roasted malt hit.

M - Moderate body, maybe a touch thin in comparison with the standard, but the alcohol is surprisingly integrated given the nose, and the bitter close trails but does not build too much until the beer warms considerably.

O - A deep, dark coffee stout, with well crafted roast and wood themes, and a surprisingly light mouthfeel that results in a very interesting, rewarding brew.
