My bottle has a thin 2016 stripe in the upper left corner and is labeled at a mere 10.4%. Pours a beautiful oily black with a caramel colored head. Smells of chocolate and whiskey. Coffee, figs/raisons, vanilla are present in the flavor. The feel is wonderful and overall this is a wonderful beer.

12 ounce bottle poured into a snifter

A: Pours pitch black with a mocha colored full creamy head, looks like motor oil, very nice.

A: Dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee, dark fruits like plums, dates, brown sugar, sweet blackberries, also notes of oak and whiskey from the barrels, very nice aroma.

T: Hint of oak, big dark chocolate and dark coffee flavors, slight vanilla, dark fruits, finish is very dry with more whiskey, oak, and espresso notes lingering in the finish, very nice.

M: Full bodied with a smooth creamy mouthfeel, low carbonation, very dry for a stout.

O: This beer drinks very smooth, could use more barrel notes but its big on dark chocolate, espresso, and dark fruits. It has a big creamy mouthfeel and it's amazingly drinkable. Definitely going to pick up a few more bottles for the cellar.

Wow. Talk about balance. This beer is phenomenal. No head after a pour. Looks black as motor oil. Smells of chocolate, sweet licorice, lots of brown sugar. Taste is sweet dark chocolate up front. Sweet middle, bitter umami at the end. I'm kicking myself for only getting one bottle. Top marks here and we'll done Great Divide!

Bottled 3/22/17
Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch dark tan head over a very dark brown body with fairly nice lacing. Nose of chocolate, roasted malts, dark fruit, and booze. Taste mirrors nose with dark chocolate, bitter chocolate, black cherry, and whiskey on the finish. Nice feel and overall a real nice job from Denver!

Poured into a 13 oz Lost Abbey long stim tulip glass bottled on 3/22/17 my wife's birthday. Pours a gorgeous pitch black with a massive 2 plus finger sticky expresso head that leaves thin wisps of lace all over the place.

Smell is roasty coffee, dark chocolate, oaked vanilla, and some bourbon that cleanses your nostrils.

Taste follows a massive expresso, oaked vanilla, deep dark chocolate, molasses, hints of leather, pipe tobacco, and nice warming bourbon lingers on the palate after each sip.

Mouthfeel is very large, plenty of life for the style, a little dry as you would expect, and at 12.5% ABV extremely approachable.

Overall this thing is world class all the way, gorgeous, chewy, and drinkable, everything I love about a great BA Stout.

This is a great beer! The only thing and I mean the only thing from separating this beer from the top barrel aged stouts is the feel. Otherwise for the price and the availability this beer belongs among the elite BA stouts.

**2015 vintage**
L: pours pitch black with a small very dark head.
S: big barrel, then a mix of chocolate, dark fruits and molasses.
T: thankful the barrel and chocolate prevail! Not the boldest Ba stout but the barrel and chocolate are very good in this one. No bitter aftertaste, sweetness throughout. Job well done.
F: It's thick, smooth.
O: yum!
