Bottled 3/22/17. Opened 6/29/17.
Pours black with a deep cinnamon head. Great lacing and retention.
Nose is light oak, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, roasted malt.
Taste is rich, dark chocolate, brownie, vanilla, oak, slight bourbon, coffee, roasted malt, light alcohol heat. Very easy to drink.
Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Excellent
Such a great beer!

The appearance is a pitch black body with a two finger tan foamy head that when it dies leaves some nice clingy foamy lacing in rings. The smell has some chocolate and coffee coming through in a woody sort of way. Light vanilla enters in as it warms up. The taste is bittersweet through previously mentioned flavors. On the palate, it sits about a medium to heavy and demonstrates that its not that sessionable. Carbonation is barely there leads to a nice smooth feel all around. Overall, an absolutely fantastic barrel aged imperial stout well worthy of having again.

On tap in a sampler size glass at the brewpub on a Saturday evening in June. Fantastic brew. Already a Yeti fan, but am usually tentative on barrel-aged beers because (despite loving bourbon) I don't always agree with the sweetness it lends. Very tempered here, but still alive and contributing. Rich without feeling heavy, booziness is enhanced by the aging but not distracting in any way. Off topic, but a Miller Lite-loving friend was drinking Roadie at the brewery like it was water. I don't know what that says about the beer, other than it might be a gateway craft brew in a town cosponsored by the mother of all gateway drugs.
