Colette is our homage to the saisons that Belgian farm workers have enjoyed for centuries. Brewed with barley, wheat and rice and fermented at high temperatures with a special blend of four different yeast strains, Colette is fruity and slightly tart, with a dry finish that makes it that rarest of treats — a beer as refreshing as it is complex.

Slightly hazy golden yellow wiith a minimal white head.
The aroma is light malt, wheat, citrus, cloves and a bit of funk.
The taste is light malt, wheat, lemon, cloves. The finish is dry with lingering lemon zest, cloves and a hint of grassy hops.
The body is light, moderate carbonation, fairly smooth and very drinkable.
Altogether, this is a fairly tasty and very refreshing brew, great for warm fall days or to accompany fall feasts.

Light gold in color with a hazy complexion. There’s a fingernail of off white on top. The aroma is of earthy to bubble gum yeast. I’m tasting light cereal grains, and earthy to bubble gum yeast. The mouth is light and refreshing.

I finally tried this after having just about every other saison that I've seen or have available to me. It pours a pale yellow with a little head that disappears fast. The aroma is of funk, and yeast, and a little hop. The taste is funky yeasty, some lemon, biscuity malt, and a little hop bite. It tastes and feels fairly light. Not the best saison I've had, even among the domestic versions, but it was fine and it went down fairly easy. Giving the choice I'd probably opt for a good pils or a PBR but I got to try it on draft at the Whining Pig in Phoenix and that's a wrap, cheers!

Great tasting Saison style beer always have several in the fridge in the summer. Perfect and refreshing after some summer outdoor activities when you want something above a solid Pilsner or Lager.

I found Collette to be quite good with a pretty mild sourness, some tangerine tartness, and some yeasty funk typical of a German wheat beer. It is the best US brewed version of a Farmhouse Ale (Saison) that I have found so far. I would still rate Saison Dupont above it, but not by much.

Poured from a 12oz can, canned exactly 7 months ago.

On the pour a nice fine 1 finger white head forms then dissipates over a minute or two to a ring around the rim and scattered bubbles. Color is a golden straw with a good amount of haze. Not a lot of visible carbonation. Halfway into the beer, the head is completely gone.

Aroma brings a lot of funk, and some citric tartness. Very yeasty and bright, but definitely some strong horsey notes. Almost pungent. Quite subjective I'd say, however this is my first foray into saisons.

Flavor follows the nose but with a bit more balance and a light crackery maltiness that follows the big wave of belgian yeast character. Has some elements a tripel might have but again with some horsey notes, but those are more reserved on the taste. Again some tartness but it is complimented by the bright fruity belgian yeast character. Some background hop bitterness but it is quite subtle and slow to arrive. Some spicy notes on the back as the yest mingles with the malt.

Feel is quite nice and easy to put down. Very light and summery and despite the lack of visible carbonation there is quite a bit of co2 bite that goes well with the tartness to make this quote refreshing. Not quite as heavy as a traditional tripel, but quite similar flavor wise with some additional nuance while still keeping abv, mouthfeel, and fillingness lighter.

Overall an interesting beer and a good beer to begin transitioning from tripels to farmhouse styles. Not overly americanized (it seems) and a very yeasty beer. Quite good, a lot of flavors.

Color is of a lite golden with a fair white head.
Earthy and a nice touch of funk. Reminds me of a saison most.
Earth flavor, a bit funky.some tartness.spicy and some clove.
Lively carbonation and dry finish.
This is an acceptable offering.
