12 fl oz bottle sealed with Great Divide logo pressure cap.

poured into HF wine stem.

bottled on date of October 23, 2014.

Appearance: slight hazy straw yellow bodied beer with two full fingers of bone white head. Head drops down to a thin cap leaving spotty lacing on the surface of the glass.

Smell: Lemon lime citrusy and floral hop combo. Wet hay and bread malts. A musty funk about this beer in the aroma. Fruity esters and well water.

Taste: Light floral bitterness and fruity esters start the flavor off in this beer. Mid palate bready malts, rotten wet hay, and even more fruity esters. You taste some mineral content from the water and musty funk.Light mineral content in the flavor profile that tastes weaker than it smells. Hint of banana and clove that doesnt emerge until the beer is half way drank and opened up a little bit. In the finish, you get pear and white grape with again even more fruity esters, light bready malt, and a light bitterness that lingers shortly.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with moderate almost high carbonation levels. Ever so slight boozy tang, but this beer is very drinkable for a 7.3% abv beer. It even has a nice semidry finish and is pretty crisp, clean, and snappy. Yeah, it is definately a fairly crushable brew.

Overall: For a brewer who is not well known for thier Belgian beer styles, Great Divide make a pretty nice saison. I wasnt really excited to see that this beer was bottled on October 24th of 2014 when I found the bottled on date, but it was a nice surprise to see that Colette has sustained itself sitting on a shelf in a store without being refrigerated. I would gladly keep this as fridge beer year around for anytime that a saison craving strikes me. This beer is fairly rustic and pretty close to an authentic belgian beer style, even though it is technically an american spin on a saison. At this price point and being is a 6pack format you are not going to complain about what you get for a saison drinking experience!

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on May 31, 2015.

Hazy pale yellow with a big fluffy white head. Floaters at the bottom.

The aroma is distinctively Belgian with that toasted biscuit malt, yeast, pear, and muted grassy hops.

Medium to heavy body.

Very easy drinking beer with soft Belgian sugar and yeast notes and a mildly dry finish. The way I enjoy my Farmhouse ales.

Look: Hazy, deep straw color.
Nose: Bright. Clean. Pineapple? Lemon peel and apricot. Floral notes.
Taste: Crisp and fruity--plumbs, apricots, etc. Subtle white pepper. Always the smooth, floral note coming in behind.
Fell: Good mouthfeel.
Overall: A classic American take on a farmhouse ale. Really pleasant.

Mildly hazy, pale yellow body; lots of fast rising carbonation; thin white head. Somewhat fruity aroma; rhubarb and green apples; powdery yeast notes. Mild malt flavors infused with fruity esters, much like the aroma; tart with an acidic twang. Light to medium body; somewhat fizzy and effervescent; mostly dry finish.

A decent, generally well-rounded farmhouse ale. It's a little rough around the edges but does deliver a nice variety of flavors and treats to the palate.

Appearance: Clear yellow body, thin dissipating head.

Aroma/Flavor: Bready and fruity, slight fusels alcohols.

Mouthfeel: Dry, but too much from the booze.

Overall: Way too much sugar used in this brew.

A tasty beer. A good companion to some mild salami.
