Disclaimer: I'm not a big saison fan, so if you love them, then don't trust my review.
Colored like a lager with a thick white head. The smell is sweet with citrus and whatever that weird saison burned rubber thing is. Same thing on the taste, a relatively bland beer with that funky saison twang on the finish. Glad I tried it, but not really my style.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 7/15/2015. Pours hazy golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apricot, apple, white grape, pepper, clove, light banana, wheat, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, pear, apricot, apple, white grape, pepper, clove, light banana, wheat, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate yeast spiciness and light herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apricot, apple, white grape, pepper, clove, wheat, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from carbonation and yeast spiciness as well. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately creamy/bready, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent saison! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Appearance: Pours a creamy golden straw color with a slight haze.

Overall: The Colette is balanced by citrus notes and earthy grassy aromas. The taste contains herbs and spices that complement the citrus fruits in this brew. This is an incredibly complex taste for a warm weather brew. This beer is on the lighter side and goes down easy on a hot day.

I have been really busy for about a week-and-a-half and I am so glad to able to resume The CANQuest (tm) while watching Game 7 between the Blues & the Stars.

From the CAN: "Great Minds Drink Alike". Colette with pitchfork in silhouette against an egg yolk-yellow background.

The Crack! revealed a brimful craft CAN, but I was torn as to how to decant it. I wanted to CANduct an inverted Glug, but I decided to go with a gentle Glug instead. I got a foamy finger of bone-white head for my efforts, but its retention was low & quickly dissipated into wisps. Color was Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a vague mustiness that was difficult to quantify. It had the tang of brett, but very, very lightly. There was also a light lemony scent to go along with the tangy mustiness. Mouthfeel was medium, but very carbonated. It seemed to fill my mouth with a fizziness that was almost like pop. The taste was really tangy and tart with flavors of lemon, black pepper and an odd, old newspaper-like mustiness. The finish was dry, not puckeringly dry, but very vinous. I have had Saisons that were much more challenging and as a result, I am not a huge fan of the style. This was much more pleasant and accessible than many that I have had. It would make a nice introduction to the style for a novice drinker, but for the hardcore Saison freak, it might come off as dumbed-down. It was a decent beer overall.

After softie from Goose Island I thought I didn't like the style but this was really good. Of course it wasn't my first beer of the day so I should try again.

Wow, this is a good one, seems to have hints of orange peel and coriander. Great color, cloud, but substantive like you want it, nice head and goes down so smooth. One of my favorites.

12 oz. can poured into snifter.

A- Hazy blonde, with a dense white head. Retention not great and lacing is lacking.

S- BIG yeast. Like bread dough. A lemony zest, along with sweeter citrus notes. And some Belgian spice.

T- A bright citrus and spice. Backbone is bready.

M- Tart and spice. Body is a little syrupy, which is unfavorable. Finish lingers as a little dry and spicy.

O- Aroma and flavor are nice. The syrupy body is off, however. Really sticks to the mouth.

Pours a slightly less cloudy than to style, but the right shade of yellowy orange. Pepper and spice, and everything nice on the nose, along with faintly tart and sweet, bready, clovey, and fruity flavors. One of my favorite, easily accessible American saisons. Cheers!
