One of my favorite beers from great divide. Not my favorite style but the mix of belgium and American farmhouse just hits the nail on the head for summer drinking. Now in cans is just perfect for golf or fishing

Every time I have this it just gets better. A delicious Saison with absolutely no faults. Every year it's my go-to summer quencher.

My review from a year ago :

A : Pours a very pretty hazy lemon drop color, with about 80% opacity. The head doesn't stay long but it is lacy and porous while it does. Hilly lace left behind on the walls of the pint glass.

S : Fresh baked dough, perhaps even slightly overdone; yeast, fresh citrus, and spicy zing. A nose that makes my mouth water.

T : Right at the first taste there's some burnt alcohol funk and burnt biscuit but that quickly gets brushed aside by an absolutely heavenly flavor profile. Banana peel, walnut, yeast, oranges, lemon, steamed rice...it's almost like a hefeweizen but has the tartness of a saison. A dry alcohol burn finishes the profile and leaves a starchy feel on the palate.

O : This beer was great. I'll buy more once I'm down in Nebraska again.

I picked this one up at the fierce and several recommendations by my brother. This one comes from Denver Colorado and the water they use comes from pristine mountain snow which is some of the freshest water ice in the country. It is brewed at a higher temperature and uses 4 strains of yeast and also includes barley, wheat, and rice! It has 7.3% ABV and a lot of flavor so let’s take a look.

Look-It pours a beautiful light yellow gold and a white head that is thick. It pours mostly head at first so give it some time to settle. The head is as white as the snow from whence it came and is composed of a variety of bubble sizes.

Smell-It smells strongly of pineapple, mango, banana, and a pleasant spiciness that is the tell-tale signature of farmhouse ales.

Taste-The flavor is very nice and contains most of the same things that the nose picked up, but perfectly leveled out and with a hint of lemon grass and light pepper. I get a slight sense of yeast to cut the mild sweetness and the spiciness.

Mouthfeel-It has a moist and buttery, but not syrupy nor sticky feel. It finishes clean and with a small lingering coating on the tongue.

Overall-This beer is excellent. It is really refreshing and fine-tuned. It is really well-balanced and not too sweet at all and is one of my favorite farmhouse ales.

Cloudy light gold pour with a small white head .Taste is well balanced in malt sweeter flavors and dryness from the farmhouse yeast

Delicious. Yeast, lemon, pepper, and a bit sour. It's a neat bitter. I can't place the taste. Pepper is there. Really great. I'd certainly get it again.

Look: Hazy golden straw. A finger of white head dissipates very quickly. Fairly active carbonation.

Smell: Light yeast and lemon grass. Very light pepper.

Taste: More of the same but way more pepper than was on the nose.

Feel: Light and crisp. Fairly dry finish.

Overall: This one is fine. I'm not overly impressed but equally unoffended. Wouldn't actively seek this one out and wouldn't turn it away if someone handed me one. Forgettabley average.

12 oz bottle, tulip glass

A – Light gold and mostly clear with just a touch of haze. Thick white foam, about an inch, with moderate-long retention. Bubbles rise up for a while, effervescent.

S – Peppery, similar to grains of paradise, a touch of lemongrass and citrus hops. Bready-crackery malt.

T – A lot of lemon-lime, citrus, lemongrass, and strong, spicy, peppery yeast notes. Light grainy, bready, and cracker malt. Extremely well-balanced.

M – Moderate-high carbonation with a medium-full body. Equally sweet and bitter, with that peppery bite. Dry throughout.

O – A fantastic saison, all the features you’d expect in a traditional version, with a bit more amped up Belgian yeast.
