In a trade with Marty
Bottled Mar 24 2016 at 42 degrees into a hand washed and dried JK snifter
Aroma – light and herbal with some spiciness
Head large (Maximum five cm, aggressive pour), white, creamy but very fizzy, settling to a creamy layer about one cm thick with scalloped edges.
Lacing – none.
Body – light yellow, cloudy – sediment from bottom of the bottle
Flavor – not much. Slightly herbal and spicy as in a dash of pepper. Neither flavor nor aroma from hops, malt, alcohol, nor diacetyl.
Palate – light, watery, soft carbonation

An innocuous concoction. This is easy to drink but the 7.3% ABV will creep up on you. One and done. Huh - this won a silver medal at GABF in 2010? I guess I’m just not tuned into farmhouse ales.

Appearance 3.75, Aroma 3.5, Flavor 3.5, Palate 3, Overall 3.

Bottled 9/19/14; drank 12/8/14 @ the Yarchives.

Poured from the bottle into a glass.

Murky orange/yellow hue.

Big bright white head; strong lace.

Banana & orange citrus nose.

Medium thin mouthfeel.

Orange citrus & banana flavors up front; mild clove & black pepper notes on the finish. Typical for the style, but the bright citrus note elevates this, making it easy to quaff.

12 oz can; purchased from Globe. Nice foamy head, with a clear, straw color. It had a typical Belgium yeasty aroma. It had a typical Belgium flavor that was pleasant and spicy. Not as good a beer as Boulevard's Tank 7, but a beer I would be happy to drink on occasion.

L: Pale straw color. Fizzy head that disappeared quickly.

S: Fruity esters and a little bit of barnyard funk.

T: Banana and coriander flavors jump out the most to me. Some other citrusy fruits and some other spices I can't quite pinpoint in there also.

F: Creamy but with a little bit of crisp "bite".

O: Only the second or third saison I've ever had. Still trying to get a feel for the style and the unique flavors it has. This one is enjoyable for the most part, except that I HATE coriander. This one is drinkable despite that, however.

Hazel straw color with plenty of bubbles and little head. Nose bready malts, grass, fruit, funk. Taste biscuit, pear, lemon peel, peppery spice, sweet malts. Clean finish. I've become a big fan of saisons and this one is a good one. I have had better but this one should convert some people.

Pours a bright hazy straw yellow. Smells of pasture grasses, light lemon drop and slight yeast/funk. Taste of light lemon, merengue like, fresh cut grasses and slight but yet not over done funkyness from the yeast. A bite of light floral on the backend too. Silky smooth mouthfeel but yet light on the tounge. I really enjoyed this one.

Poured a hazy translucent yellow color. Aromas were is subtle spiciness, lemon, and maybe little grassy character. Flavors were sweet. Noted preserved lemons, simple syrup and some yeasty esters. Favors were mild, doesn't seem as harsh as other farmhouse ales. Mouthfeel is slick and medium body. I like it.
