Style: American Double / Imperial Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 9.50%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout is another revered incarnation of our legendary imperial stout. We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. Another great Yeti? Hell yes.

Tastes like chocolate covered cherries. really nice head. very pretty colors. Tastes like Mexican hot chocolate. As dark as they come, light can't penetrate it like a black hole.

L- pours a beautiful mocha brown head that unfortunately fades quickly.
S- A wonderful chocolate malt smell. Lots of sweetness. Black licorice.
T- A wonderful baked chocolate taste to add to the wonderful yeti. The oak raste makes this incredibly smooth. Slight licorice. Another wonderful stout!

Not my favorite yeti of the three I tried. The oak age was smoother. All taste of chocolate. This one did not manage to make me think desert above the othervimperial stouts. Still good.

22 oz bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance
Jet black with 2 fingers of creamy dark brown head that dissipates quickly.

Nose
Baker's chocolate, cocoa nib, and dusted cocoa. Caramel, toffee, and butterscotch.

Taste
Baker's chocolate, dusted cocoa, and cocoa nib. Caramel and toffee. Roasted barley, earth, and charred oak. Pine resin and cayenne pepper linger.

Mouthfeel
Full bodied, creamy, smooth, warming, and off-dry with a moderate bitterness and lingering heat on the back end.

Overall
Chocolately and warming version of the Yeti. The cayenne heat adds an interesting finish. The perfect beer for a cold, wintry day.
