RUMBLE IPA is an American IPA with subtle nuance. Brewed with heavy handed additions of Pacific Northwest hops, this beer is gently aged on French and American oak resulting in a wonderful balance of bitterness, caramel sweetness, vanilla, and undertones of pine and citrus. Very inspiring.

12 oz bottle Aug. 18 2010 just over a month in the bottle.
I anticipate something like a single oaked unearthly ipa.
a- fluffy cream colored head, over a clear as can be dark amber. nice carbonation. solid head retention.
s- smells of bittering hops, vanilla and oakiness. A nice spicy aromatic quality also. And a healthy yeast smell as well.
m- skipped right to the mouthfeel on this one. pleasant creamy head, and full body. smooth sip, really nicely done.
t- tastes of citrusy hops, well balanced bitterness. So smooth feeling, I assume they use flaked oats or something. alcohol is really well hidden.
d- awesomely balanced beer. I like it.

12 oz. bottle.
Bottled on MAR 19 2015!!!
Moderate pour yields a one inch very light tan head over a hazy, copper-brown body with some floaties and sticky lacing. Nose of oak, slight citrus, and even slighter pine. Taste mirrors nose somewhat with caramel from the barrel coming forward that lasts right through the finish of a little bit of pine bitterness. Good carbonation and feel; and overall, surprisingly drinkable for a 56 month old IPA, but I'd really like to try this fresh. ;) Cheers!!!

A fairly disappointing beer from a brewery whose products I normally really enjoy. Pours a clear copper color with very minimal head and no lacing. Smells weakly of hops, oak, malt and a little caramel. Taste follows the nose but the flavors are very muted and there isn’t much in the way of a hoppy bitter bite. Smooth, thin mouthfeel with good carbonation. A decent tasting beer but really lacking in complexity or depth. I just expected a lot more from Great Divide. It might also be the fact that I am not used to oak-aged beers without bourbon, and I’m also not used to aged IPAs.

From notes 1/12/12: Pours a hazy golden honey color with 2 fingers of frothy, uneven, somewhat lasting beige head that leaves behind a good coating of clumpy lacing. Aroma is a balance of sweet caramel malt, vanilla, citrus and pine hops. Taste is hop froward with cherry, caramel and woody vanilla expressing in the middle with the pine hops and pepper becoming more assertive shortly before and through the finish. Slightly boozy in the finish the alcohol becomes more noticeable in the slightly bitter aftertaste.

Pours a deep golden amber coloration with a medium, frothy head. Smell is quite subdued, but with notes of bready, caramel malt, citrus hops and just a hint of woody earthiness. Taste follows the nose, being dominated by bready, slightly caramelly malt and citrus hops. There are some definite, but rather subtle barrel notes of vanilla and oak to this, with slightly more prominent grapefruit, pine and light herbal notes. Finishes with a medium bitterness and just a hint of vanilla and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is an odd, yet interesting one. Quite a subtle, but well-nuanced balance of bready, caramel malt, mildly resinous citrus hops and light barrel notes. While this doesn't exactly blow you away with a bold flavour profile, it's quite satisfying for its subtle balance.

Solid IPA. Actually it’s good. Not too hoppy, but also not bland. Aged in oak barrels. On tap at Safeco field. Great baseball beer. Nice subtle chaffyness.

This beer pours a rich copper orange with a solid head. The aroma leads with caramel, pine, toast, peach, apricot, grilled mango, and peach hard candy. The flavor starts of grasy, with loads of pine and a hint of cannabis, then moves to caramel, butterscotch, toast, and vanilla, with a hint of peach hard candy. The mouthfeel is full bodied and just a bit sticky. Overall this is a superb beer - I reacted out loud to my first sip - a genius combo of hop and wood flavors, and a style I cannot get enough of.
