Had at 2013 Boulder strong ale fest.
My favorite beer there beating out Pliney the Younger.
Aged in Jim Beam barrels
Amazing smell and balance with the bourbon and chocolate notes.
Great Divide Brewery defiantly need to bottle this beer.
Overall 4.75

Jim Beam Whiskey Chocolate Yeti...poured at Strong Ale Fest.
A - jet black with a creamy mocha head; minimal carbonation, significant lacing
S - everything Chocolate Yeti is known for: dark roast coffee, chocolate, a touch of oak, a bit of vanilla, and with this version, sweet notes of whiskey
T - pretty much spot on with the nose, where that Jim Beam whiskey comes through and offers some heat highlights; somehow, it seems the whiskey barrel aging has offered really smooth balance and a chocolate/roasted deliciousness that shined at SAF
M - I have to say that the barrel treatment may have mellowed out the dark roasted coffee bitterness a bit; this was drinks heavy but retains smoothness
O - One of my top ranked beers at SAF...I was really impressed with this take on Chocolate Yeti and the beer seems to have benefited by employing some smooth whiskey traits, a bit of a heavier mouth feel, and a delicate perfection of stout flavors that improved on the normal version
